As a Californian who is currently vacationing in Portugal, may I add my spirit to yours?

Flying back from Portugal on June 13. On June 14, hubby and I will be protesting in Cloverdale, CA.

I used to be so proud of my country's morals and values.

It must be extremely hard to be in the same room with the orange man, knowing how you can run circles around him intellectually.

It's currently a super popular tourist attraction.

It's even worse because we are still in mourning for Pope Francis.

I'm not ok. Lost a huge chunk of my IRA. My husband's SS check is late. My pension may become insolvent. Anxiety 24/7. I hear that is not healthy for folks in their 70s.

God keep your land glorious and free, cuz it sure ain't happening here.

Homegrown citizen of the 31st US state. Great experience until January 2025. Currently 0/10 stars, do not recommend. Canada, I hope you know how many of us are rooting for you.

Amen. And as a mom of a son who happens to be autistic, I would like to add that he has been an absolute blessing his entire life, especially when he shares his unique viewpoints.

Look at Indivisible Sonoma County FB post. Last pic shows a bus driver for a retirement home loading up the of the residents who attended the rally in Santa Rosa.

Elbows up, Canada! Vote like you don't want to protest like we need to do in the occupied US. Sane Americans are rooting for you!!

We are sooooo rooting for you, Canada.

Our adult autistic son recently mused that he thought his 70-something dad might be on the spectrum too. After 40 years of marriage, I really feel he is on to something that I could never articulate. Also, calling neurodivergence an "epidemic" is super ableist.

A couple of days after he used the phrase "autism epidemic", it was telling that the first item of his concern was how autistic people don't pay taxes.
comment in response to post
It's very telling that the first "issue" he mentioned about the autism community was that they don't pay taxes. This was after he used the word "epidemic" to describe the increase in the diagnosis of autism.

I'm appalled by the overt ableism conveyed by the phrase "autism epidemic". Conjures up visions of disease, sickness, bad stuff.

I'm your constituent. Are you going to El Salvador?
comment in response to post
My adult autistic son correctly diagnosed his dad as also having ASD. Recent testing proved it. Just part of the epidemic, I suppose.
comment in response to post
"Prevention matters" is an extremely ableist phrase. Also extremely ableist is RFK saying that there is an "epidemic" of autism.

My autistic kid ran cross country, graduated Summa cum Laude from college and now pays a boatload of taxes.

I am a proud mom. Our son, diagnosed with NLD at age 7, was upgraded to ASD after the DSM-5. Recently, our very perceptive son noted that his dad shows lots of autistic tendencies. I must say that I agree, although he was never tested. Also, what kind of ableist crap is using the word "epidemic"?

Thank you, Senator. Godspeed.

It's too late for words. Unless Congress reclaims their power, we descend into tyranny. Go to El Salvador with your colleague.

I get this. I'm 72. I've attended several demonstrations, and most of the people there are women in my age group. Somehow, I thought we fixed a lot of this when we were in our twenties.
comment in response to post
Why in the world would you describe autism as an "epidemic",unless you are prone to believe misinformation and conspiracy the....oh.
comment in response to post
Actually, I had enough on Jan 20th.

Fight this with every fiber of your being, Senator.

Then the billionaire overlords laughed about how rich they got IN THE OVAL OFFICE when the rest of us lost our life savings.

Like he opened up the beautiful water in California and let millions of gallons evaporate for a publicity stunt.

Same for my husband and me. A lifetime of saving. We cannot recoup this.

I am pleading with you, Canada, from the occupied US. Vote!!!!!

As a sane and ashamed US citizen, I wholeheartedly agree. Elbows up, dear Canada. Our country is currently run by flying monkeys. It hurts. Really bad.

You and Jamie Raskin are very good at this, but are there any Republicans who are not insane?

Please, Sir, step aside for a real fighter. America is dying.

I have contacted you daily expressing my terror about this administration, and the loss of democracy. Read your constituents' letters on the Senate floor. Be like Corey.

Thank you. More of that. Much more.

See what Corey Booker did? Do that .

I read this as "unkind men so often WHITER in the face of unkindness." That also fits.
