Indeed it does! 👍

If only.

And it also ignores the fact that there are homophobic people in Israel. That would mostly correspond to the ultra-Orthodox, who are a part of Netanyahu's coalition government.

Can't argue with you on that one! 👍

Threads just strikes me as being the social media equivalent if a dying mall at this point. I know some folks who are on there and have to wonder what they see in it.

Yep, that one too!

Matthew 7:3-5, I’m just saying, my SBC brothers.

Happy ordination anniversary to you!

Oh no! 💔 So sorry to hear that! Gonna give my pups some extra attention tonight as you suggest.

You're absolutely right. The other night on YouTube I was catching a bit of the Pentecost Sunday service from Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Broadway was SBC before, but not now. They're affirming and I liked what I saw. Could easily see myself attending there if I weren't Episcopalian!

That would describe any day ending in a "y" in San Francisco, tbh.

100% agree. I have been so pleased at the clergy/churches here in Albuquerque who walk in the Pride parade and show their allyship the rest of the year!

If you have any doubts about the unconditional love that dogs have for us, this will surely change your mind! ❤️

And let's also not forget how they stood up for Jim Crow/racial segregation for many years.

Happy birthday! 🎉🎂 (and this selfie is a good one)

I think you're on to something here. Perhaps they will even come out with a NITIS translation of the Bible, where they cut out the parts they don't like, a la Thomas Jefferson.

LinkedIn as a whole is insufferable, but I agree with you!

I *knew* that I couldn't be the only one out there comparing him to Gollum! 😂

I think you are dealing with your grief in a good and healthy way. I've gone through a lot of the exact same emotions after my husband passed away in 2023. I assure you that you will NOT forget about your mom and that you will continue to remember and cherish many memories of her.

Hell, Nick, there aren't even capital-L Libertarians left any more, much less libertarians left within the GOP. Just a bunch of alt-right edgelords...or worse.

People might joke about Prayer C being the Star Wars/Star Trek liturgy, but I unashamedly love it for the awe built into it.

Yep. Retirement (in a few years in my case) is looking way more appealing because of these things.

Same. And the next time I am reading an imprecatory Psalm, I will be thinking of her.

That or the No-Tel Motel which has hourly rates posted. 😂

All the usual suspects on that list, including my representative. 🤮

Interesting, and dismaying, to me as a Christian how many self-described Christians would apparently be on the *opposite* side of the Samaritan in the parable of the Good Samaritan.

The church I attend was built in the mid-1950s, so it has some mid-century elements but also New Mexico/Southwestern influences.
comment in response to post
Mid-century churches can be pretty cool. I like this one.

TBH, I see lots of similar postings in the Episcopalians on Facebook group as well. Don't love it there either.

I think your Pentecost vestments are great! Particularly the chasuble. 🔥

We have that same shield on our church banner, which we have used in the last two Pride parades in Albuquerque.

That hat is everything! 🔥

100% this. I don’t always feel like going, but I’m pretty much always glad I did once I’m there!

And I’ll also add that people like you, Ben, are helping to attract new people to TEC. So keep up your good work!

Yes, exactly. This is much like dealing with the Westboro Baptist ghouls…they hated being ignored as well!

It was good! We were supposed to have a baptism today but the family had to postpone it. Still renewed our baptismal vows anyway and our deacon preached a fantastic sermon… dare I call it a “fire” sermon? Yes, I think I shall! 🔥🔥🔥

Because not all of us are like him, thanks be to God.

I take communion every opportunity I get (including at our Pride parade yesterday), so I would do so at both services in your situation.

At my church, we are all encouraged to wear red on Pentecost. I will definitely be doing so! 🔥

Sorry to hear that. I am so thrilled at what we have in my city and diocese now, because I remember very well when it was not that way.

The authoritarian streak in the GOP is a mile wide and has been that way for a long time. What is really discouraging to me is how many Democrats seem to *also* be okay with authoritarianism.

Making liberal use of blocking makes my experience far more enjoyable here. But wading into some of the replies these days is just depressing TBH. Some people just can't quit Twitter even when they are on here.

Not one to yuk someone else's yum usually, but...I have to agree.
