Southern Ontario: Yes, folks say this. "I'm done my..." means that you're finished, the task is complete, there is no more. "I'm done with my..." means you have no more need for the thing. Usually said to a server trying to clear plates with scraps of food left on them.

Right? There are over 200 possible outcomes, and the test is very scientifish.

See you at Dragon Con! Though more likely not unless we end up on a panel together somehow because DCon is pure madness.

Can you imagine seeking out a contact for and filling it out because you didn't like a free silly online quiz.

Yeah, I keep being surprised how adult fans of HP have no idea about this. In a lot of circles, this hasn't punched through.

If you figure out the secret sauce, please share :)

Ah, I lived that life for a while. Made me a better writer but I'm glad I got out. Good luck!

Very much. I also teach, which is suuuuuper helpful. I can't imagine trying to make a whole living just on writing. It sounds, as you say, ROUGH.

You got lucky! I'm a bit jealous. I didn't realize I enjoyed writing until I got out of school, nor did I understand that my capacity for storytelling was unusual. I thought the daydreams were something everyone did.

Hey, did you know that a lot of people *don't* have stories that have been living and growing in their heads since childhood? Weird huh?

As they say, write what you know! I look forward to the Scalzi Sizzlers (tm) filled with tantalizing descriptions of searing steaks and barbecuing burgers. The literary version of Studio Ghibli cooking scenes. I'd read that.

Minor only in that I feel like I'm pointing out a logical fallacy in the reasoning of someone actively engaging in arson rather than the gasoline they're pouring everywhere. There's a larger issue, with smaller Matryoshka dolls style issues within.

This is a minor quibble, but being a tradesperson does not preclude being queer.

I think true and immovable favourites are a sign of a different flavour of neurospice. Lots of people will have a "current favourite" of some song or show, but few seem to have lasting and uncontested favourites in most categories.

Games from other regions employ "sparkling riposte"

I wish that were true. We are constantly shown it being useless and bad, but it's actually pretty good at a lot of things and its getting better. I worry that if we argue against its use because it's bad at things, then the argument falls apart when it gets good.

Are you saying we should hold back this *transformative* and *revolutionary* industry just for minor quibbles like it requiring massive theft and being an environmental catastrophe?

Also, Preorder now. Canadian misfit wizard kids. Good for the soul.

Oooohhh. Have fun! It's imperfect in what I found to be interesting ways. Enjoy! Also, congrats!

No idea what you're talking about. This man is seduction incarnate.

Saw this live. She was incredible and SO committed to the bit.

I can ask, but I gave up all my manosphere cred years ago for the sin of genderbending a slave Leia costume and giving boys feelings they couldn't navigate.

Whoa now! We're not talking about "better." We're still trying to cope with having our manliness diminished by a shared interest. You can't expect us to emotionally process being beaten by a girl. We can barely handle Tim Hortons being out of Boston Cream Doughnuts.

Ditching a platform because it has AI integrated into it right not is like trying to bail a sinking boat with a thimble. Until the bottom falls out of the whole thing, good luck even finding a refrigerator without AI integrations.

I thought we were just being exclusionary jerks, but it turns out it's also cowardice and an inability to think in anything but stark binaries.

Is the internet not incredible that this gif is trivially accessible?

Spell-check is incredibly valuable as it saves my copy editor from wasting time just hunting typos. Grammar check is mostly good, but it does push us to conform to the algorithm. You have to be pretty good at English to know when to ignore the blue underline.

Even Atlas moths? But they're so pretty! Also, they're so big they're basically small birds. Which, depending why you dislike moths, may just make them worse for you.

Can I pitch another personality quiz at you? stealingfromwizards.com/familiar-quiz Does your magical familiar match your capable chaos-Muppet energy?

I have to remind myself that words are hard, English is a dumpster fire of a language, and meaning is usage. 🧐 Also I take comfort in my being correct and everyone else being wrong. 😁

I've heard both slant-rhymes and metaphors be described as puns recently and I'm glad someone else is annoyed along with me.
