Johnson simply saw brexit as a way of getting leadership of the tory party. I would imagine he expected to lose the referendum but use this as a launch pad to challenge Cameron. It was never about brexit for him; it was about his favourite subject: Boris Johnson.

I think it's sort of the second, Donna Edmunds in Shropshire was suspended from UKIP (then quit the party, not the post). She was suspended for tweeting that she planned to defect (to Rupert Lowe's party, should it be set up).

I didn't say they were copying policies so please don't put words in my mouth.
Not sure what your issue is, but I'm not going to engage in an online row when I suspect we both want broadly similar outcomes.

More 'manage immigration' type pronouncements for one.
And, as for five detailed reform policies, read their website if you're interested, it's pretty bleak reading.

And yet, despite this being public for a while where is the BBC reporting on their news site?
In depth article on the maps that show 'Reform triumph is more than a protest vote'.
Also, on the proposed legal challenge against asylum hotels (by Reform).
But this?
Silence.

And Labour moving to the right, chasing reform votes, is sure to improve that...

I think claiming the BBC are desperate for balance is wrong. It's not balance that the BBC wants, it's propagation of views that are approved of by those in positions of authority and, of course, 'engagement' with their viewers/listeners.
All the while being called a 'left wing institution'...

The problem is that educating a populace is only going to reap rewards in 20 years, by which time all current senior politicians are retired or off doing something else.
It's the same for so many issues, a complete lack of long-term thinking and short term 'benefits' take priority.

Keep getting caught by goretex style gloves.
I think with heated grips when it's cold and wet, the water evaporates and finds its way through the glove's 'goretex style lattice' into the lining where it makes your hands wet.
Cold wet days, it's a choice warm hands or dry!
Or... Bar muffs.

I worked in a company that imported an American director, it was his first role outside of America.
The difference in an employer's expectations of an employee's responsibilities compared to previous bosses (German, Swedish, Italian, British, French) was crazy.
Very different cultures.

Utterly disgusting behaviour by the former government and their allies. I find it hard to believe that the current government is taking so long over going after the obvious corruption.
I fear that those who stole from the nation will not feel any repercussions from their theft.

What I really want to know on this anniversary is, why is it taking so bloody long for the guilty parties to be prosecuted?
I hope there aren't quiet back room conversations trading off justice with the reputational damage to government/politicians but fear there may be.

Five years ago, it feels longer.
I'm still staggered that when we faced something like COVID there were people whose first reaction was 'how can I profit from this?'
We had the worst of governments at the worst of times, using the cover of COVID to execute a raid on the country's resources.

Lavrov asked her whether she accepted Russian sovereignty over Rostov on Don and Voronezh and she clearly didn't know where they were and answered as if they were in Ukraine. Embarrassing.
He may well have asked her about the Caspian Sea as well.

I bought one of the smaller zeros a couple of years ago. It's got a range of about 120miles. It's great for running into town and around town, it'll comfortably reach the speed limit. But it's not suitable for touring. I like it but still need conventional bike(s) as well

Good article. I'm very sceptical of a lot of the 'push' for hydrogen rather than BEV. I suspect some of it is genuine but much is motivated by maintaining the oil industry as is.

I was very tempted by that one, but ended up not buying. It seemed like it hit all of the buttons.
CCM seem to be moving away from that kind of bike towards expensive 'lifestyle' bikes. Shame really.

Used to talk with my grandfather about motorcycles he had in the 1920s. My interest in mechanical things and motorcycles does certainly seem to have been inherited or at least influenced.
