Added to by those inflicting their choice of music on all, as they drive up and down both roads.

Naughty Cat is disappointed her household's humans failed to follow Daphne's sagacious recommendation. Their muttering something about "the allotment" & "hotter tomorrow" may be accepted in mitigation, provided treats are offered.

Same 46yrs later. Drove to the register office together for a wedding with 12 guests, then off to the local Italian for lunch. Mme's dress, £20; M NL's suit, borrowed. Recall studies showing an inverse association between marriage duration and spending on the engagement ring & wedding ceremony.

Quite. "Huh, new money", as Mme's farmer aunt would've said, sniffily. Self-perpetuating conspicuous consumption, spending to outdo each other & the only people they really impress are each other.

Feeling more & more comforted that our visit kept us away from such goings on & in a gentle bubble (well, it was less touristy too being out of season & hot on the heels of 9/11).

Thank you! Hoping the guy doesn't get delayed en route, it's about 6hrs to go until our slot & just before they pack up for the day.

You too.

Ha, thank you! 6+ hours to go & they're usually WoolCool insulated. Our fingers are crossed & Thermapen at the ready.

Checked the cheese with them, as our understanding is Tunworth is made with animal rennet & they assured us the one they sourced for this is veggie. Oh, the parcel's just checked in at the Cardiff depot. Hoping it gets to us without baking in a van all day.

A Made in Oldstead Time of Abundance five-course meal box with wine pairing. Our presentation skills are about to be tested! Their menus & dish component packing are really well thought through, making gels & the like easier. Haven't yet resorted to tweezers but you never know😂

Played in the presence of our three, made the usually mellow Naughty Cat jump. Think she's shocked there's someone else out there with a purr louder than hers.

Cytuno, ofnadwy.

Medal's deserved & well done, bet you smashed it!

...found it & a Tess Mallos cookbook (1976, a gift to Mme from a fella she went out with pre-MNL). Not a hint of a recipe for it in either of them🙄

Oh, wonderful stuff, we really love Assyrtiko! Domaine Sigalas & GAIA especially. Wanted to taste GAIA's aged Assyrtiko vinegar but it was still under development when we visited its repurposed tomato purée factory, so we missed out.

That's nice & feels inclusive (rather than kind-of forced participation in something competitive that needs particular skills) too.

Aww. What was your fun interactivity?

Exerting territorial imperative and with no teeth, such confidence!

Ah, hoped they might. That's good (even though the waiting's a pain in itself).

Now you're talking!

No wonder you're fed up, it's a grindingly miserable experience. You/your GP's prolly been on it but maybe worth asking the physio if the Health Board has a pain management service for pain unresponsive to GP management or runs a self-management ESCAPE-Pain type programme that might suit you?

You're a really bad influencer🤣🤣

Darn it, got one of those on the shelves too! Why didn't we think of that?!! Awaiting results 👀

Ooh, think this might be aka ktipiti. The French supermarket version is one of our holiday go-tos. Haven't tried Sofia's yet & don't know why we haven't tried to make it! Doh. There's a classic Diane Kochilas book sonewhere on the shelves, must hunt it out & see if she's got a recipe.

..or two. Lucky enough to have stayed on Santorini as one stopover on a Greek wine tour. Oh, tomato fritters & some excellent wines, inc. a standout dessert. Happy sigh. Subbed the train with a coach, our driver on his mobile while speeding around cliff hanging bends. Scared silence, no singing.

Île? That's a continent!! Hope it was good (we've a soft spot for them).

Indeed, at macro & micro levels and in so many ways.

Yet.

Sympa. Mme has had more than enough of the night time boil-in-the-bag experience.

Poor you, no wonder!

Lavatera, maybe?

What a great way to spend a morning! Hope the pain subsides, find hot weather doesn't help such things.

What a horrible experience for you both. Hope she's home & more comfortable now.

What a kind face, she must have been a very good and real friend. So sorry you've lost her💚
