Any chance that book was Fourth Wing?
That is the one that caught me. I had no idea what I was getting into. All of sudden it was WAY outside my comfort zone.
I finished all three books in record time though. ☺️

Holy crap they did just that.
Let’s blast that POS out of existence

What kills me is that there are going ahead with season 3 of Rings of Power which really sucked and is way more expensive.
( I have seen LOTR well over 25 times and I read the books over 20 times before the movies came out. I love it. RoP sucks )

I came down to your shop from north of LA to see Brandon Sanderson for the release of Oathbreaker. I had a great time

I loved it. Easily in my top 3 favorite shows.
Which shows are in your top 3?

Kind of like what you feel after crushing a video game. You know everything there is to know about.

It’s hard to imagine dropping these tools altogether, but I think we have a few rounds of innovation to go through before these tools deliver on what I really want, which is more than just a productivity boost.
I want mastery.

I find myself turning off the ai and doing rounds of review and refactoring just to help my mind fit things back together.

I have noticed a kind of graying out of my knowledge of a code base as I use more vibe coding and AI in general. Since I am doing physically less there seems to be less signals for for the brain to build a structure or map of what’s where.

I live near by. It makes me happy every time I drive by. Can’t wait to see who comes to visit my neighborhood when it opens.

First time I read them, back when the weren’t all out yet, I got so frustrated at the end of book 9 when it was clear that the damn thing was still not close to over that i threw the book across the room and didn’t pick the series up again for 10 + years

Pacing is always going to be an issue with this series. There is just no way to cram it all in. But then again most of the criticism of the original books was they took forever to get anywhere.

I didn’t have hi expectations going in, and it took a bit to adjust to the changes in the storyline, but I thought both season 1 and 2 were pretty good over all.
But some of the episodes and scenes were truly amazing, 🤯
season 2 finale gave me chills it was so good. 😲

I have been coding professionally in one form or another for 30 yrs.
I have never felt so productive as when I am writing code with cursor. It feels so good.
I also know all of you on this thread be much better coders than me.
I wonder if what I feel using cursor is what you feel without it

I am definitely vibe coding more than I am talking about vibe coding. Maybe I am just weird. 🤷

You were just a couple of months out of date. So don’t feel too bad :-)
It’s really just been in the last 3 or 4 months that it started to take off. Now we are getting break through every month.

Ha! No kidding? I suspect there are lots of other ways markdown is being used that neither of us knows about. It just keeps spreading.

It took me a while to come around to it. it was MDX that finally pushed me over the edge, and made it my daily driver.
But now when working with LLMs it is even better. It great for writing prompts and Cursor rules
It’s Like json for prose. Just enough structure.
Thanks for dreaming it up 🙏

Sure, chatting is a fad.
It’s not like it something that humans have been doing for 50 to 100 thousand years.
I mean right?

But there is something else. When you just sort of let all the stories and interpretations drop away, there is something else there.
It feels good to be kind to people and it feels good when you see people being kind to one another.
That is also very real!

Yeah that is true.
And even the “perception” of generosity can change over time.
Lossy both as in “incomplete”, but also “not fixed”
comment in response to
post
Are there generous actions though?
I think the answer is clearly yes. We see and do them all time.
And since neither you or anyone else in the universe is a fixed thing that you can attach fixed attributes like “generous” or “hateful” to, that is what matters.

There is a FileMaker feed
comment in response to
post
It is. That is a big part of what this app has to do. It has correctly create the scripts steps for the pseudo code that the LLM models write FileMaker code in.
Then it uses BaseElements plugin to convert the xml into FileMaker clipboard objects for pasting.

Ya this is sort of my main point. The hidden costs or the costs passed on to others is the really nasty bit.
But they are really useful if you can ignore all that,
But still I am rooting for the microbes, maybe they will force some innovation
