Honestly, I hope not. Immaturity is a core pillar of human culture, and even then, the name is actually sourced from something relatively professional and meaningful. It's easy to joke about, but that's about it.

My dumbass was about to comment the same thing lol

Sorry, meant to share what vtuber in question earlier but I had work. Just now got a break. It's Midas, she's great.

A lot of people come to the second chances conclusion because of personal trauma, for example I see myself on the receiving end and see only anxiety from being bullied by my mother-in-law for things I didn't do. I absolutely agree with you, by the way. Just trying to keep the perspectives straight.

Just wanted to say I've been there, and I don't think it's going to end at any point. I've found roleplaying a better-fit person for a given task to help, somewhat. 'Fake it til you make it' and all that. My anxiety comes from an abusive step parent. I understand, and I wish you the best.

For as long as I can remember... I get intense bursts of motivation and focus, and then like a switch was flipped I am just... unable... for months. I have so, so many abandoned projects. Working on a framework for the Dreamcast, I have more than one game to make. But the last few weeks... *sigh*

I doubt they'll declare martial law... They'll just do the ol' lobbyist move and skirt around the laws in the most non-sneaky way possible, and effectively enact martial law.

Saw an argument online about how democratic elections are not about choosing the best leader, or even the best image. It's a game for whoever can get the most votes. Trump capitalized on spite, hence "I knew he'd screw it up, but I didn't think it'd be for me too." And so he won, twice. Go figure.

It has aurorae... Goes to show how video games and programs such as Elite Dangerous and Space Engine can try to replicate it (Space Engine with flying colors!), but it just won't be as magnificent and fantastically beautiful as the real thing.

The Beginners Guide is absolutely wonderful, same guy who wrote Stanley's Parable. Also thank you for singlehandedly inspiring the furry takeover of my mind through your reposts of art lol.

A wonderful fluffi boi :3 But I have one question The question to end all questions 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐲? (Please don't take this seriously lol, this art is wonderful)

I learned a lot, researching from this comment. There's a neat huge Mario Kart Wii overhaul, there's anti-cheat and it won't let you run it on an emulator (???), it's closed source for the same cheating reasons (?????), and you can run Mac OS 9.2 on a Wii.

Interestingly, everything's been a computer in cars since 2000. Embedded electronics are still fully featured computers. That's as far as it should have gone, since the ability to program instructions is all we need and further complexity obviously puts it at risk of putting the user in danger.

I don't despise AI (more accurately termed machine learning, after training it's like any other fixed program). It has a place. I despise the people who use it this way. They are the ones infringing. I fully support your goal and will be helping to do this, I just want to be clear as to why.

All of the IT sections in Stack Overflow would like to have a word with you. I agree though, a gorgeous design.

This, man. Coming from southeast Kansas this is what it always meant, never heard it used in this context outside of the internet. Only heard somebody actually using it as an excuse once and I was infuriated. Pretty sure it was Andrew Tate? Whoever it was, the bastard had no shame.

As someone from southeast Kansas, this was never used in a misogynistic context to my knowledge, never had anything to do with girls. It was just about stupid shit like shooting cans with a BB gun, filling one with water to see it blow up. It's sad to see it has more widespread use in this way :(

I cannot thank you enough for actually providing the link. One thing I advocate valiantly for is not just citing sources, but doing your own research. It's a skill we all have but don't really use anymore. See youtu.be/QEJpZjg8GuA for more info on that. Seriously, thank you.

Listen. I'm totally in support of this. But please site your fucking sources. I would love this to be true but without them there is absolutely no merit to this, and it makes it look stupid. Don't "just Google it" me, that's not how any of this works. There is too much misinformation in there.

Quick reminder that it is totally possible to run LLM locally on your own consumer-grade hardware. If you have a GPU then you'll see speeds similar to what you see online.

Please know that I do wish you the best with it. I joke because I've heard stories of a few novels having 10-15 revisions, each with recommendation documents about a quarter of the size of the book. I thought he was a wonderful writer, but it happened regardless. So be prepared! And good luck.

Oh I may not be a writer but I've had a friend who is and has dealt with an editor. It's not a matter of if. Only when.

Ok I've seen a lot of cats, both on the internet and in reality. I've never made a comment complimenting them but THIS... is an absolutely beautiful cat. Thank you for sharing this, it made my morning lol.

Well, yeah. The chaos and destruction is the point. Ever had to deal with internet trolls? Same people. They think it's funny.

It's not bias, just that ASCII art isn't standardized whereas emojis are. Depending on how the screen reader is programmed, it might not even be attempting to support emojis this way, it just naturally does because of the way it converts to text before being thrown into a text-to-speech engine.

Messaging from the Midwest US. It's really hard to find support for simple things like this over here. Took me a little over 2 years at fast food to get to a setup like this one, not to mention I had a similar upbringing. It truly feels wonderful. Cheers!

Finally, a credible take that clearly explains the problem and makes it easy to figure out the consequences of it. If only the people that need to hear it weren't outright refusing to compare it with what it's supposed to be solving (and it isn't even solving *that*)

Wait, really? Do you mind providing a source for this research so people could easily tell that it's the truth? I didn't know actual research existed on the topic of misogynistic language in culture. It would be nice to know for sure whether it is harmful.

To be fair, it shouldn't ever have been interpreted as the best and brightest outside of commercial pilots. You don't need to go to college at all to get a license to carry passengers. I'm fine with this, it still requires dozens of hours, but it's worth noting nonetheless.

Hilarious and a pretty good interpretation of the enshittification experience with modern apple. This image is what it felt like when the headphone jack went away. Props.

Nothing but an Apple 2, a brilliant mind, and the right software... Computer science was still niche back then, there was a lot that could be done. What a time that was.
