Hey there, I'm a designer and illustrator. My wife said about my art: "you draw gnomes as they live in real life, their daily experience(...) Like, yeah that's how a goblin would collect pumpkins."
It's my favorite thing anyone has ever said about my art

He likes the idea of AI teaching kids because a human teacher might question “you must love your tech overlords” as a lesson plan.

He’s a sociopath who wants to send autonomous weapons across the world. He thinks a roomba (the thing that frequently and comically malfunctions) should be piloting a missile. This is pathetic.

If you had asked me, I would have thought 60 minutes would be against the fascists. Bummer.

Yeah, in no world is it the creatives fault, I don’t think. People with money are creatively bankrupt but that is definitely not Mike Judge’s fault!

I love King of the Hill so much but MAN, culture is just fully stagnant at this point.

The thing that’s always driven me crazy is that like, of course the youth need guidance. They’re young! Thinking they’re unsaveable has always struck me as a way to absolve oneself from any kind of social responsibility towards kids. Anyway, this article is dope.

“Resource use shaming” is the most “please don’t hold me accountable for anything” nonsense I have ever read in my life.

I think it’s just cognitive dissonance. They convince themselves that Actually It’s Good and then justify it after they’ve decided it is.

I’ve never understood this. I had a friend tell me they wanted to write a comic once. I said that was awesome and asked if they had any inspirations/books they loved and they told me they didn’t really read comics haha. I think people just love the idea of being X thing rather than the reality.

The AI jobs crisis is not the sudden displacement of millions of workers in one fell swoop—instead, it’s evident in the attrition in creative industries, the declining income of freelance artists, writers, and illustrators, and in corporations’ inclination to simply hire fewer human workers.

I think the reason is that then they have to look hard at what they’re doing when they’re supporting GenAI.

I super don’t get it. If a book is bad, read a different book. I think folks just all have the attention span of flies now (myself included).

Yeah the folks who made an “anti-woke comedy club” want to tell us why we’re not allowed to avoid talking to them.
