Hey, at least you have friends and family out of country you could flee to if we become nazi Germany 2 fascist bugaloo in a little over a week. Most people in America can't afford to
God as an aussie I never wanna live in the US, our politicians may be stupid but at least they aren't nearly as batshit crazy unless you look really hard at the fringes
Id laws, and money. Ive been in Nola less than 3 years now. and alot of that extra time earning income here has been going to stabilizing ACTUAL living conditions, I was overdrafted till today. I had to move in a stuff everything in the car and drive kinda way, been recovering debt since.
It honestly isn't much better as a born citizen. The downballot votes matter, but as far as the presidential vote goes, most states are a foregone conclusion. We're at the mercy of a handful of midwestern swing states which usually come down to a coin toss.
Oh WAIT THIS IS ABOUT THE ELECTIONS. Yeah, and the thing is even if you're outside the USA, whatever happens there could have and does have catastrophic impact in far too many countries
I think once the magat leader dies we'll get slightly safer. It's shown that his rhetoric doesn't work for other people. There's a reason candidates he endorses all lose.
A bit of a warning: this happened in my country and the nightmare didn't end after the piece of shit died, because he managed to survive until the guy he endorsed got into power. This was 12 years ago and he's still in power.
Do. Not. Let. Trump. Win!
Iβve noticed mine do that, but mostly in non-English countries. When I was learning German and visited Germany my English accent changed to match those around me, uncontrollably. ^^;
thatβs really crazy! genuine question: did you make an attempt to change your accent when you moved to the us or did it just naturally change over time?
It happens. Noticed it with my brother when he moved to the uk for a few months. Came back and had a noticable english twang to his accent. Just something that happens when you move to different places. You adopt their accent slightly.
I think americans less so, cause media is mostly american
As a fellow expat (UK -> US), this happened to me, too. I moved here as a teenager. I never tried to lose my accent, but I would subconsciously mirror the people around me more and more as the years passed. Now it flips back and forth depending on who I'm talking to. None of it was ever intentional.
Most times when someone is around people that don't have the same accent your brain could make it so you subconsciously diminish it so you fit in more with peers but when they are around people with the same accent it comes back out like when jacksepticeye did collabs with other Irish people
If I could, If I travelled I'd take a full un-opened small jar with me and I would have that on toast with my breakfast, just cause I wanna cause chaos

Also its Halloween!
I never hear anyone actually liking that stuff?
from an American
I envy its resilience
Now: Again?
(Iβm joking, as a direct neighbor Iβm very concerned and itβs not silly at all)
Itβs been known to happen
Iβm sorry about the fringe weirdo grifters we spawned >_>

Second impression: "Did the Vegemite start the fire? Or is it fire-proof? Or does fire make it better?"
I feel like Kaji in Evangelion when he's tending to his watermelons

That will then also guarantee a few new SCOTUS judges so the major fear will be gone
Definitely worrying to live in a system like that though
the Mass Psycosis ends 2027 if history is anything to go by
You live in this cycle and you will die with a Donald Trump on power.
Your choice is not candidate a or b, it unions, guillotines, shit in the rivers.
