With Trump declaring himself above the law and Musk calling for jailing journos, there's a big risk voters get acclimated to this kind of authoritarian talk and come to see it as normal. Another reason Dems must step up now.

Hint: it might be a painful experience.
I mean if they all always cave in the end, how long are we supposed to keep pretending there are still "good Republicans?"
We need more @petebuttigieg.bsky.social, @aoc.bsky.social.
As long as it’s “Dems say” or “critics say” it’s seen as he said/she said & low info ppl say, they’re only saying it cuz theyre out of power.
Media - MEDIA - w/o Ds can say this is criminal unconstitutional.
2) What exactly is the ask to Dems? And what’s the expected outcome?
3) Why no smoke for the GOP?
YOU should contact GOP reps and let them know YOU are not pleased with their coup . . . YOU have the ability to inform the GOP . . . why are you expecting others to do it when obviously you won’t?
2. The overwhelming majority of voters who look like me voted for the other lady/guy… across three elections. Not sure who you think you’re talking to, but take that nonsense elsewhere — like to your cousins who voted for this.
We warned journalists that he'd come for them, and here we are.
And now you want Dems to step up.
As to weaponization of DoJ, people will have heard Trump repeat that endlessly and it will devolve into a ‘both sides’ issue even though it’s 100% asymmetrical

Every episode covers another Trump outrage, and it's just so damn RELENTLESS. (I know it's because the outrages are relentless...)
An occasional break would be welcome - something positive about people fighting back...
Levitsky: "We do. I should say that we really need the Republicans to do it as well because even today, most Republican politicians, most Republican senators know this. And they say some variant of it; they admit to as much in private."
But they still should.
