If you have Absolutely zero ethics or morals, renaming the Gulf is a brilliant move. It allows Republican judges some room for interpretation for drilling companies to get around Biden/Obama era drilling bans. As those apply to the Gulf of Mexico, not the Gulf of America.

Maybe more appropriate to name it the Smackover Gulf, but seek out a Gulf stratigrapher to be sure. That was after it was the Norphlet Dune Sea. But that was a few years before the Civil War.
