I mean, Stroud ain't making any arguments for MVP, but at least is mediocre today. Herbert has thrown more INTs this afternoon than in the entire regular season.
I know that's been aided by a run/defense focus by Harbaugh, but dayum.
As a Chargers fan, I would have rather missed the playoffs entirely than this. Give me a time machine so I can go back and figure out how to swap the Bolts and the Bengals
Every year we joke about the Texans being the 4:30 Saturday team and every year the resulting game absolutely confirms that decision (except the OT game against the Bills in 2019).
Haters or realist? I like Herbert but I don’t think he is generational and I think his arm talent and his ability to make wow throws have analyst fanboy over him ignoring his flaws.
TBF, he has been pretty bad? And when what you hear from his supporters is how he is essentially perfect and everyone else lets him form then a little clap back sense fair to me.
No, and I'm not trying to pick a right. He's a very good QB but he gets talked about like he's elite and when he plays like this in a big game people who aren't sold on him the way NFL Twitter (now BlueSky) are gonna chirp a bit.
I really like Herbert but this has been frustrating beyond belief. Doesn't help that he hasn't been able to plant his feet, kudos to Houston for the constant pressure.
So he's getting paid approximately 52 million. To be... well, ok. I'm sure by the start of next season, there will be a few talking heads about how he's better than Mahomes.
Herbert is a good quarterback and 2024 has been his best season, but he has always mixed his fantastic highlight reel plays with stretches of the subpar that get forgotten about on social media.
Herbert is a top 10 QB, one game doesn’t make a career. Not a good showing, but first year with Harbaugh as they build a culture. Needs another weapon to compliment Ladd. He had a really good year in a new offense. Didn’t play well but playcalling wasn’t very helpful, IMO
does it matter if i whisper that i can't stand the guy ... & is his head so wide & flat that he has to wear his helmet on the sidelines like a weird freak? no one else does that. sorry not sorry. just don't understand him at all. takeitoff. hope your team does well next year. meanwhile, go Houston!
I mock the pundits who have glazed on him despite his no shows in the playoffs. Taking that leap from good to great means winning in the playoffs despite having a less than ideal situation. But he is treated as if he has or can. And he hasn’t. Full stop.
I mean both can be true. He’s not playing well but neither is the oline or receivers and the oc is not calling a good game either. It’s not just one or the other
You don’t know that. The first I can understand saying but for the second one for all you know McConkey ran his route to the wrong depth. He’s not playing well, conversely the oline is getting absolutely manhandled and his receivers aren’t winning anything deep.
Not haters, just sick of him being propped up by ESPN as the greatest QB since Brady when he’s done nothing. To quote ESPN: show me something in the postseason! while shitting all over Dak Prescott. Who by the way has won 2 playoff games and one of those being on the road against Brady.
I got his back .
We have no running game.
The offense is stagnant,
We need a better offensive coordinator.
The offensive line was porous
Did he have his best game,no but I still believe
Fair people will say he's a franchise QB & Harbaugh knows how to run a program, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Chargers make the dance in a few years. They just didn't have enough this year anyways.
Yeah but sure seemed the Chargers hit their offensive ceiling the week before. Roster weaknesses getting exploited in the postseason is sort of expected.
He's got all the tools required to be a top, top quarterback, but he just doesn't have "it".
"It" is undefinable but obvious which players do and don't have it
You are so right and I think the Chargers lack of big play players like Keenan Allen and Austin Ekler got exposed thats why I liked the Texans this game but I dont think Herbert should get the full blame. He was really harassed too.
It isn't hating, but NFL media has a tendency to vastly overrate the QB position - Herbert, Stroud, Lawrence, etc. have huge problems in their games and shouldn't be exempt from blame.
I don’t understand the love affair with the Chargers. Every game I watched them play this year was similar to this minus the Herbert interceptions. They never looked like a playoff team.
i dont disagree with him not being top 5, but when you say "i dont care how good he looks on tape" when talking about QB evals, maybe reconsider that thought process?
It’s bit that folks are hating, we just don’t think folks on television should be mentioning him with the likes of Lamar, Patty, and Josh. Cuz he ain’t that

That ain't bad, that's putrid.
Woof.

Herbert gets a lot of hype for not really doing all that much in 5 seasons and with arguably a much better coach this year than Stroud has.
Also thanks for bringing the sports talk to Bluesky. Appreciate you. 🔥

That Houston pass rush is no joke though.
He throws a beautiful ball but sometimes ........

Shows it frequently enough to garner top-5 rankings? Eh...
