It's most strange because less traffic is associated with a more accessible and safer street environment.

Both things can be true - LTN are good for many reasons and often not enough is done to make them really accessible to all
Would be great to have more 'hire' options like that though - not being fully abled can cause a lot of anxiety about riding alone or in traffic even if you can see. The taxi of the future? :-)
So often it's not done or treated as an afterthought or even (sadly) so badly done it can make travel less accessible for some users.
