The key thing hinted there was a rejection of force heridity, with Rey being nobody and then the strong hint of the stable boy using the force, RoS was all in on the hereditary force- a broadbased force/jedi revival more interesting then, 'somehow palpatine is your granddaddy'

Quite the opposite. Seriously you think Luke is gonna throw his lightsaber away like this doesn’t matter? That was so stupid. And TFA set up these great new characters only to have them separated through TLJ it made no sense. They should have had Poe and Finn go on the adventure together with Rey.
