Biden didn't want to get rid of DeJoy. Democrats are perfectly happy with the USPS being destroyed. See also Waxman (D-CA) and Davis (D-IL), co-sponsors of the 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. It forced USPS to prepay employee health benefits 75 yrs in the future. It was brutal.

DeJoy kept his job *BECAUSE HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTING RID OF THESE RULES.* He whipped the necessary Republican votes to pass the 2022 postal reform act, which among other things got rid of the 2006 provision to pre-fund pensions.
