She is a woman... hard to know. If Alito, or hell maybe even Roberts decide to take advantage of the window there is room for both of them. Thomas will not ever retire I don't think, strategy be damned.

I could see Thomas taking the RBG route of refusing to give up the seat strategically due to his ego. But I also think he understands that the power of his people collectively is more important than him individually so if he can name his replacement (even behind the scenes) he might give it up.
