Because even, cis women get accused of being trans if they have an Adam's apple or 'too much muscle' or they have a wider jaw. If they don't look traditionally feminine enough, they are demonized. I think despite the low number of Dems the article quotes, many Dems are much much closer socially and economically to conservatives than I always thought esp in leaderships, and I think that’s why we see no pushback to Trump/Musk. I'm gay Chris and I just respectfully disagree. It's a completely polarizing issue and hurts Dem electability (Kamala is for they/them etc.) and trans people overall bc Reps win and do incredibly bigoted things. We are talking such a small number of people and it just isn't the hill to die on.
