i think I heard a toilet flush yall! ha ha once they get them in court this admin bout ta go bye bye can yall say "BYE FELICIA!" wit me now everyone! 😜
Hold the DOJ in contempt, in jail, in El Salvador. Perhaps their cell mates can give them pointers on how to stay alive while waiting an appeal to the U.S.
The White House’s response suggests that the administration is of the view that once a deportee is out of the U.S., the judiciary lacks the authority to order their return – including those the administration itself said were mistakenly deported.
yup... ALL OF THEM should be returned, as there was no due process FOR ANY OF THEM....
besides, there are other innocent guys who were sent there.... this one got the attention of the courts because he's the only one the govt admitted they sent there by mistake...
"Your honor we recognize that the only time we actually have responsibility to a person is when we have them in custody but we've already transferred this person to our facility on the moon. This was already in motion during the ruling as you can see by this sworn declaration from a janitor."
Assuming they actually try to comply, this whole thing has given El Salvador an incredible amount of leverage. Imagine knowing you have no obligation to do something that someone else absolutely needs you to do or else they’ll be in contempt. They could extort millions from us. Yay efficiency. 🙄
DOJ's appeal: "We *did* apprehend, detain, and extraordinarily rendition this non-Venezuelan man illegally every step of the way, but even though we made a series of 'mistakes,' he should stay in a for-profit work-prison w/o hope of ever being released for the rest of his life. #OopsieJustice
There are mistakes and then there are 'mistakes'. I think they take great pleasure in making people feel afraid, even those that are here legally. This mistake might be a happy accident in their minds because it increases fear.
Who are the lawyers at the DOJ who are able to sleep at night knowing they tried to keep an innocent father in a hellhole prison?? Who raised these people? Where are their mothers and fathers? Are they proud of their children or pretending they don’t know them??? SMDH
They don’t want to admit that he can be brought back so easily—because if they can get him back, they can get everyone back. Especially the guys on the planes Judge Boasberg ordered turned around.
Yeah, they’re fighting to preserve their “there’s nothing we can do because we don’t have jurisdiction over him anymore” argument. If they brought him back immediately, it would show how empty that was. (And, on a non-legal level, I’ll speculate, also just ‘cause they want to keep being horrible)

anguish caused by this😡😡😡
And even less about that poor goy that they deported and got thrown into that San Salvadorian hellhole.
These people are bad. For them there is no bottom.
Speaking of which, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele also mocked the judge’s ruling.

They've already argued it in a previous brief.
1. This will get mired in appeals and delays and cries of “we can’t do that”. But even so, great news.
2. That this is rather unique to Abrego-Garcia since they specifically had been found that they could not be removed to El Salvador, is that right?
Stay tuned.
But they’ve been arguing detainees can file habeus corpus, so it’s all legal.
So this puts them into a lovely lose/lose bind.
There have been no filings yet, although August Flentje from DOJ made an appearance in the case a little past 11:30 p.m. on Friday night.
(Why TF is DOJ using a PDF form? Did they really not have a NOA ready to go if it was going to be this urgent?)
