It's so stupidly simple. Healthcare-for-profit will never prioritize the best outcomes for patients. The head bookkeeper is obligated to maximize "shareholder value", which is secret code for "minimize expenses, and maximize revenues". Which translates to less care for more cost. Without fail.
American oligarchs are basically stupid. Unlike their European colleagues, they've forgotten that you shouldn't rub the peasants' noses in the dirt after you robbed them, but leave them enough to not go hungry.
The area where I am has a healthcare monopoly that takes people to court to put leans on their homes when they cannot pay their medical bills. The state allowed them to become a monopoly with the agreement that it would give care back to the community. Taking people's homes was their care! 😠
This is an excellent question that needs to be answered. Is this common practice for CEOs...this Industry? this compensation level? I think Americans are about done with insurance and pharm designed for profit before health.
Their names, pictures, salaries have to removed from websites. Don't want anyone to know who's responsible for running hugely profitable companies. Every teacher somehow was on every class picture and in every yearbook. Maybe because teachers weren't making 3-20 million a year by denying help.
Yep. The administration in large healthcare organizations and big pharmaceutical are pretty top loaded as well. The healthcare industrial complex is not great and I don’t mean this in the same way RFK Jr means it. There are many caring providers in the system but damn it’s a mess!
Years ago, hosted group of corporate attendees from around world at Int'l meeting. Most S, Americans were surprised about lack of security walls around most mansions and only minimal fencing for kids and animals. Point is if wealth gap is not reduced then the 'walling' business will grow bigly.
Exorbitantly huge donations to politicians over decades have bought insurance companies the ability to basically dictate to lawmakers which legislative direction they shld focus their attentions upon. The extrapolations that follow this fact tells us all we need to know about the ins industry.
It's a profit driven industry. It's not about our health, it's about their wealth. They are betting you die before they need to pay out. It's a game and the odds are stacked against us, always. They use AI to deny claims, that should tell you all you need to know.
Welp...we also need to know why they would be quicker to spend money on full time body guards than be willing to make less profit and cover more meds, screenings, prevention, therapy, increase life span, which ostensibly is why Healthcare exists
I think the fact that CEOs feel that they need full-time bodyguards these days is a fair indication that they know that we already know far more than they’re currently comfortable with. But there’s always bound to be more. 🤦♂️
Ça voudrait peut-être aussi dire que c’est du vol organisé pour empocher l’argent des citoyens assurés et leurs enlever toutes possibilités de réclamer quoique ce soit.
I just reposted a must read about exactly that. Insurance companies only goal is to enrich their shareholders & CEOS & force consumers to pay as much as possible out of pocket & deny claims.
I had a very part time job with Aetna years ago hearing 3rd level reviews of denied services. After about a year of “approving too many payments “; I was fired. It’s all a numbers game. 🤨
The healthcare industry in this country is an embarrassment. Denying clients needed care, forcing healthcare workers to beg for coverage while raking up Top 100 profit margins. Abolish for profit healthcare
