In theory he should not be sworn in as POTUS on January 20th. Congress could make that a reality by refusing to certify electoral votes for him on January 6th.

Even if pardoned before trial, its saying "I was guilty and have accepted mercy from the govt for my crimes."
When accepting a pardon does exactly the opposite.
No thanks. Anyone who accepts a pardon is by definition guilty of a crime and people should be constantly reminded of that fact.

I suppose I was projecting, because if I was in a position to hire people, I would want to exclude not only the criminals, but also anyone who doesn't see them as criminals, without them catching on to that being the reason.
One third voted for the instigator and another third sat the election out. Though a good number of the first third do remember it, fondly.
Sadly, it's barely a bump in the road to most.
