I live in 🇩🇰 Europe. I pay 8,2💲per gallon. No, I do not want an American V8 and see my hard earned currency flying out the exhaust pipe at the speed of a fighter jet.
I want an EV. Until recently I might have bought a Tesla. However, now hell will freeze before that happens.
In addition, to be frank, to the European eye, American cars look ugly and dated. The European aesthetic is quite different from the American, in cars and in other respects too.
Years ago had a Mini Cooper & loved it. I did buy a Chev S-10 in the early 90s which turned out to be an excellent truck, the perfect size for city use. I've had a lot of vehicles over 72 years (first even had a rumble seat), but preferred the smaller ones. I'm not doing tractor pulls after all
We just don't American-styled cars in the UK, Italy, France etc. US brands like Ford style models for the European market. My brother had a Tesla until 2023 and the interior styling in particular was absolutely hideous!
It's like the housing over here. They keep building these multi level, 4 bdrm, 4 bathroom, magazine worthy kitchen houses over here for less than 4 occupants, who then struggle to buy or pay for them. They just need 3bdrm, 1.5 bath bungalows at most, as families are usually just 0 or 1 kid now.
I adore my European car!! My Audi A4 is beautiful, rides so nice, is fun to drive, and makes me feel pampered. What US auto maker has a comparable vehicle?? One that starts under $45,000?
I wanted to buy a Mustang Shelby some time ago. Then I rented it for a weekend and it costed me more in fuel than the rent itself. A Ferrari is way more efficient.
Because canada brings the 9/11 bombers into america,
through the michigan border, to get us into wars for New York bankers, to steal food off my childrens table, paying a bill for you and canadas war crimes
When I worked in Paris down near rue de rivoli, there was some psychopath who would park an Expedition down our little alleyway. I honestly can't even figure out how the guy got it there in the first place. The first time it showed up it was there for 2 weeks.
They didn't want to put cupholders in their cars at all and only do it for the US versions. They do the civilized thing and pull of the autobahn and sip espresso in a cafe, instead of spilling hot coffee in their laps or in between the seats.
And later, we roll up to the little dilapidated hut in our giant, jacked-up F350 and order our caffeinated, fatty drinks like the big fat idiots we know ourselves to be.
Both Ford and GM (sold as Opel) sell cars in Europe that are appropriately sized. If they're not selling as well as other brands, that's just capitalism. 🤷♂️
It’s the same reasons they don’t want beef loaded with hormones and antibiotics, or food tainted with high fructose corn syrup and RoundUp. They’re smarter consumers
Americans buy Japanese, Korean, or European cars because they better suit their needs, not because they're stupid and someone tricked them.
Isn't this manipulator trying to call Americans stupid?
I had a Pontiac in college and vowed to never own another American car. Every time I called my boss before my shift, he'd just answer the phone with "what's wrong with your car now?"
Remembering my 70s in PHL and will never forget waiting in line for gas. Wasn't that when the Japanese cars really cashed in and never left. But it was over by the time I got my Fiat Spyder. red
Everyone’s experience is different. The wife swears by Toyota, so that’s what we have, but driving my ‘90 Bonneville was like floating on a cloud compared to the bone-crushing our ‘17 Camry gives me on a simple grocery run. 🤷♂️
My first two cars were Buicks. Never again. Driving a Toyota Camry has been a thousand times better! It never breaks down, it gets good gas mileage, the brakes are stronger, and the ride is smoother.
I’m descended from several generations of car industry executives, so I grew up in American cars. My best friend’s father chose which cars the company he worked for were going to be sold in North America. Not just the USA, but the entire continent.
However, I was aware that American brands had a bad reputation globally. When they asked why I had bought two different Japanese cars, people reacted as if I had physically assaulted them when I responded “American cars suck.”
I had an 85 Pontiac Fiero GT. Never had any problems beyond getting stuck in a Detroit snowstorm a couple times. I actually do miss that car, and hopefully I can afford to buy another one.
BUT the Suzukis Sidekick & Samurai were exceedingly durable & fun. My Isuzu Rodeo lasted 20 years & 250K mi.
Miller not a lawyer. He only has a Bachelor’s degree, not a JD. He only managed a law practice because of Florida’s absurd laws, but he has never actually practiced law in any capacity. He wouldn’t know the FRCP or the INA if it offered him a toupee.
I don't know how much it is reliability in the Euro market, but you might as well ask why VW has struggled to survive in North America when they dominate Europe (and why brands like Renault and Fiat couldn't hack it).
They had to build plants here & in Mexico, but the quality flopped accordingly. The metal sheet on Audi & VW used to be galvanized; u wouldn't find rust on old models made in Germany. The cars manufactured in Mexico rust as hell. The Atlas made in Chattanooga could be a bit different
Many US cars are just too wide! This is my road. There are passing places for when you meet another car. You get pretty good at reversing fast! In the North of England many narrow roads have stone walls on both sides. https://bsky.app/profile/arborealtechie.bsky.social/post/3lm5y3jnx4k2d
Just thinking the same about the North Coast 500 in Scotland which has become a "must do" route by many who then discover the roads weren't built for heavy traffic! 😂
The UK is behind America on that score, but obesity rates here are far higher than they were 20 years ago. Many rich nations need to address this. What we don't have is the lobbying of politicians overriding health guidelines.
If dogs had access to any kind of food they wanted in demand they’d turn out like us lol. I’ve never known a dog that wasn’t lurking under the table for anything we drop or didn’t get on the counter when we left food out for even a second
It’s not even for our fat asses, it’s the out of control need for aggressive compensation. People are such insecure losers that they use their vehicles to project intimidation strength on all the other people doing the exact same status quo performance in the suburbs.
A lot of US cars are big because they have to protect the tiny little fragile egos that are inside. Telltale signs include wrap-around sunglasses, skull themed decals, confederate flags, MAGA bumper stickers, and a wife/girlfriend with a black eye.
That's not all down to the people in question; throw some hate to the "food manufacturers" who put chemicals in everything that aren't allowed in European food. I have friends who went overseas & dropped 20 pounds without thinking about it.
Have you ever seen roads in Kentucky and other rural states! There are some around the same size. Some lane & 1/2 and some barely two lanes. Makes driving very interesting because you do run into Hummers and big ass pickups. And they don’t give ground.
Add to that the fact that AMERICAN companies stopped making sedans because they were not profitable enough, and now make only trucks and SUV's. The gave the market to the Japanese and the Koreans, who gladly sold their cars here.
American auto manufacturers clung stubbornly to their gas guzzlers. They could have made that shift… after the gas shortages of the 70s. But chose not to. Hence all of the imports.
Elon’s Cyber Trucks Removed Bc. OF Dangerous Flaws And Too Heavy On Roads—Which Also Require More Gas A Parking Nightmare Too. U.S. Vehicles Are Generally Larger Than Those In U.K. Ugly Fuck Miller —Factual Logic Worth Noting—Never Mind You’re Divorced And Doubt Anyone Would Date You!
Well, first of all, Miller clearly doesn’t go to Europe. Because there are American cars all over the place. It’s actually kind of shocking the number of SUVs you see in fucking Paris.
The only American car I’d buy would be vintage. Give me a 60s or 70s muscle car. Other than that, hard pass. American cars suck. I own a Kia that’s nearly 10 years old and has zero issues.
There's another reason. America insists on having American standards (ASTM) for their cars, whereas the rest of the world use ISO standards with metric measurements and parts. Asian and European carmakers test their cars to ASTM standards but American producers don't test to ISO standards.
Bro has never heard of the free market, I guess? People buy the cars that meet that meet their needs, not the cars that "balance trade". The U.S. has the largest GDP on planet earth, our problem isn't a lack of trade. It's the vast over-valuing of executives over productive workers.
I get the push back but my American car is better than anything else I could afford from Europe by a mile. My American car really kicks ass and looks great.
Europe and Asia predate dependence on automobiless. European communities are closely clustered. The design of their vehicles is for an arduous commute. But, across closely stacked spaces. The USA is designed on the car. Long distances. In one we need creature comforts, the other just economy.
I suspect the hair thing does not matter to her.. it everything else when compared to Brad.. looks like a fucking rat fuck.

I had an 99' Altima for almost 20 years, and I was the 2nd owner. I really did want a tesla, but I'm glad I ended up staying with Nissan. Saved a ton of money also.
Why does widdle Stevie Miller have such a big job? He's never done an honest days work in his life. But boy, he sure showed those Latino kids who bullied him in high school. And now he's gonna deport cars too!
Agreed American cars are not as good as other cars from overseas Honda Toyotas, etc I have a 2000 Toyota van. She may have some cosmetic issues but she runs.
Somebody needs to tell #BaldGoebbels there's a VW assembly plant in TN, plans for another in SC, as well as seven other significant VW facilities in the country. Will the tariff kill the SC jobs?
not to mention european roads and parking lots are not suited for american-sized cars, most of the time exceptional convoys/oversize load takes two lanes to drive.
We don’t need economy experts telling us firing appx 1 mn workers & corps firing 50 mn more & tariffs/taxes on working Americans is BAD! Give us data of how RICH billionaires R getting from trump! @mcuban.bsky.social and trump is ERASING Amer cultural & ARCHIVES forever! How isTHAT helping ANY 1?
Not to mention amercan cars often just don't match safety or ecological restriction without additional cost.
And design choices of some doesn't match common sense, like Tesla.
Providing defense for Europe seems to involve handing some of it over to Russia, so that's not really a coherent reason to buy a huge ugly expensive US truck. (And my Honda, for the dick head guy's information, was built in Ohio.)
same for fast food and why do people want to eat toxic from fast food chains or stores, they engineer their food and feed it to dumb people who just keep buying it poisoning their bodies with engineering food. They know it’s bad they don’t care. in Europe toxic food is banned.
Yikes. 🥺 Safety, price, longevity, repair costs, design, all of those things went into my decision. And the fact that I’m in Canada (originally American) and there’s a whole “don’t buy American” thing going on here that I agree with.
the BMW x series of cars are made right over the border in Spartanburg South Carolina. idk if its there yet but also Volkswagen will be making scouts in south Carolina too.
Why do you guys build cities that aren't built for pedestrian traffic, anyway? What sort of weird way is that to plan for a living, bustling place, that don't let people walk or bike safely? I don't need a car to get around in Oslo. Why would I want a car? Of any kind?
Miller’s wife would likely agree—stuck with him, it's like driving a rusted-out old truck that barely starts. Meanwhile, she’s left wondering, “Why settle for this clunker when there’s a sleek Audi just waiting in the driveway?” 😉

When I hear his name I immediately think Nazi, not even hatzi, he is straight forward Nazi, it's the only word that comes to mind is NAZI.
Bought one of those new Toyotas the next day.

You look like a total wanker
If you drive a huge US car in the UK
It looks selfish and uncaring
To use so many resources needlessly

You nailed it. 👏
At least where I am they literally could not start down the road.
Ow.

Ironically you do see Teslas in places but that ended now

I have a 17 year old Honda that still runs great! Hopefully it will outlast this administration.
A lot of “foreign” cars - Toyota, Honda, & VW, for example - are built here.
But you probably knew that.
