sorry to get all Suddenly Morose™ but when people talk about musicians who died young it's hard to conceive of a more catastrophic loss to music than Donny Hathaway. some Schubert-dead-at-31 stuff

Jeff Buckley is my number one, too. Wrote and sang such beautiful songs, did such amazing covers of others' songs, and left us right when his creativity was beginning its supernova period.
All the amazing artists mentioned here are sorely missed.
FWIW, not all likes will be bots. ;) I, for one, love his speech on yuppies taking over the music business from guys who knew nothing about marketing or metrics and gave artists free rein. That man was utterly prescient.
At the top of my musician tragedy list is Stevie Ray Vaughan, arguably the most talented electric blues guitarist in history. He died at age 35 on August 27, 1990, due to the gross incompetence of a helicopter pilot. I never tire of watching and listening to him play.
I mean, in a way. It's a tragedy, you know? Should never have happened, but at least his legacy lives on in today's youth and tolerant people. But it's like King Lear or Hamlet, more Hamlet I guess. A good soul falling far too early, perchance to dream. To thine own self be true.
I listen to MacDonnell On The Heights and it makes me weep for him. "So you know what it is to scale the heights and fall just short of fame, and have not one in ten thousand know your name."
I know he wasn’t exactly a young fella, but Tim Smith from Cardiacs having a massive heart attack and a series of strokes at 47 and then spending 12 more years in such a sorry state ranks pretty high on my list of tragedies.
One of my faves. I love the version of You've Got A Friend that he did with Roberta Flack. Everything is Everything, Song for You. Young, Gifted and Black. The list goes on and on. So much talent lost at such a young age, under such tragic circumstances.
Hello, Im Omer from Gaza.🇵🇸
My life and dreams have been destroyed by the war. I lost my home and source of income, and my family and I live under immense psychological pressure.
I ask for your support and solidarity to help us build a new life free from fear and suffering.🙏🏻
I think often about Schubert casually composing Erlkönig for his friends who were coming to visit for an evening and get mad about it. Fischer-Dieskau video related. https://youtu.be/Jd7ODIGY6Bk?si=SwOobuYSx7wERlVm
Yes while dueting with Marvin Gaye. Had numerous operations but eventually went into a coma and passed away. Mum blamed Motown for not protecting her from an abusive relationship.

I'm sure you've heard this, but just in case: The people who put out "Lioness" posthumously included a few comments by Amy Winehouse at the end of "A Song for You." Perhaps have a listen. Best wishes.
