The only sad part of moving out of a place run by an HOA is we no longer get emails asking "has anyone else seen this suspicious person he's been here every day this week casing the place in his vehicle" accompanied by a picture of a uniformed delivery guy in a UPS truck

nextdoor started sending me daily email digests i never asked for, but i'm really glad they did. someone just posted a photo of a parked car with a door open like "hey heads up in case this is your car." someone asked if they closed it. they said "no, because what if i close it and the car explodes"

But in my old Seattle neighborhood, the criminals apparently ran regular patrols. Police? What are police?
"Were those gunshots?"
"No Edith, someone was setting off fireworks again."
Guys. GUYS. What the fuck.
And the homeless? No electricity in tents so ...
What can they possibly want? Unless they're targeting the uber sports people and business people who have pawnable watches and jewelry? No one uses cash.
And Canada is all set.
I really hope to never HOA.
When we lived in Tampa briefly, the Saturday paper had at least 2 full pages of wtf questions/answers re hoa. Put the fear of hoa in me
