Nag. Sorry. I can't abide the pocket lining any more. You've been a better billionaire than most, but at the end if the day, it's all just a meal ticket for you. Gross.

Everyone seems to hate billionaires and the rich, but I don’t know too many people who would give up the money if they had it. Maybe if we stop finding reasons to hate or disregard each other we can start listening, learning, and working through our differences to find common ground.
You serious Clark? I would never BE a billionaire because my entire personality would be based on giving that money away, like Dolly Parton. Why hoard money you can never spend like a dragon hoarding jewels it can never wear?
I don't see it as kindness, I see it as the most basic of moral decency. If I have too much and I see someone with too little and I choose wealth over humanity, that's so soulless and depraved. It's how I operate now too, I just have far less wealth than a billionaire to redistribute.
It's great to be successful and make a good or even fantastic living, but no individual needs nor deserves to hoard that giant a pile of resources.
I think we need a 100% tax on all holdings and income over 999,999,999.99. No billionaires.
Sorry do I know you? If not this whole statement is based on lack of knowledge. Interesting that a post about being kind caused you to post something rude. Try kindness or knowledge.
Sorry I don’t wish death or harm on anyone. I wish we could be kind, stop attacking each other and take care of each other. There is too much us and them and looking for someone to hate. There is a whole political party dedicated to it and sorry that it riles people up that I am not joining in.
Curious: if someone’s stock is worth a billion, I guess that’s wrong, but then there’s a 10% market pullback and now their stock is worth $900 million, do they reclaim their virtue in your eyes?
i mean, the entire economy and political system should be set up to immediately confiscate any wealth $999,999. if your company is worth over a billion dollars, congratulations it's now publicly owned.
i don't care if this stifles innovation, i care about people living in tents on the sidewalk.
whatever amount of wealth a single person is in control of that allows them to buy politicians and become an Oligarch and influence public policy should not be allowed.
whoever "brigades the market" or whatever should be executed/imprisoned. hope this helps
There is no good billionaire they're all evil. Fundamentally What they have to do to get to a billion dollars is evil or it's dumb luck Lottery That they pretend is smart. Mark stole the company that made him a billion dollars from the actual Founders Mark is exactly like Elon Musk.
Those jobs using LLMs will generate garbage. And many of the folks dumping that garbage on us will never grow to understand it’s garbage. Worse, fewer and fewer people will get those jobs cause the greedy will automate as much of it as possible, especially as human standards crater. Ugh.
And that garbage becomes the de facto baseline. I get all of this at a theoretical level. Having that knowledge at your fingertips would be fantastic and could expedite informed thinking. But it's fed by unreliable people and coding. It doesn't teach humanity how to think, and that eroded us.
Oh just you wait. Google and Apple and Meta and X and Microsoft will offer us LLM "editing" for our tweets, texts, blogs, social media, videos, emails and phone calls. It'll be LLMs talking to each other. Till someone starts to tweak our own "edited" output to fit their agenda.
As a (likely former) social media manager, most social media platforms have provided full AI writing and posting for a few years now. Guaranteed at least 60% of companies use them. It sucks.
This is a great paper, and showed the for a software supply chain. That’s a concept that didn’t exist when the paper written, but does now. We will need something like this for LLMs.
If outlook is any example, asking me if I want to attach the same document over and over and over, despite the fact these are different people on different subjects, well, it has a long way to go.
Oh but they do

I would say more, but people here already covered most of it. I will only say that I have a hard time understanding why you'd think open source LLM's that anyone can use, customize and enhance are a meal ticket for anybody. I guess we should jsut let OpenAI have all the money, right?
Therein lies the problem... Skepticism, denial and it's not so much your fault but the environment in which we have helped cultivate around us. Cool, question everything but critical thinking must be used to TRUST and avoid an imbalance of distrust.
I do find it interesting how often the binary options seem to be "poor" or "billionaire" to a subset of people. There are MILES of ethical territory in the area of financial solvency.
I was in IT in the UK in the 1970s, when the first advents into AI were happening. The questions being asked then are the ones still being asked now. It is DANGEROUS and after a certain point will no longer be controllable, too many people have their own AI agenda.
But it’s probably too late now…
The funny thing is, GOFAI _isn't_ dangerous; it's incredibly useful.
But the 'ai'/LLM fraud—technically of no merit, wasteful,& unable to perform anything claimed for it—is dangerous because it's INTENDED to be dangerous. To you & me. TO all workers. It's a fascist project. https://bsky.app/profile/symbo1ics.bsky.social/post/3kk3de37opf2e
Sorry dude but you are way off base here. Here is respected businessman, who is not a fascist, who is "on your side" generally who is offering advice to people on a tool that will change the world whether or not you like it or not, and how to use it to positively effect the world. Way off base.
All billionaires are inherently amongst the exploitative, fascist class by their sheer existence. He- like all capitalist grifters -is not on any side except whichever will net him excessive wealth.
Laughable that you think a billionaire and Democrats would save anyone other than their own skins. I don’t care what side he’s on, a billionaire is a billionaire and therefore subhuman crud.
Well he is the only man in the country to do anything about high Rx drug prices. He has done nothin but employ people in a fair way. To just blindly label someone just paints yourself as an extremist and not someone worth taking seriously.
You don’t get to decide who is worth taking seriously when you yourself are just another useful idiot of the exploitive class; reciting their myths of the “good billionaire”
That remains to be seen. Positions like this are too close to alignment with Musk and his ilk for comfort. I do not want more reliance on Silicon Valley's self interests. Thunk about that.
I agree. People who see a tool as evil are not seeing it for what it can do. And what will happen if they don’t want to use it and everyone else does. As with all technology, it’s only as good as the input and the user - but to turn away from new technology? You’re gonna fall behind.
Except the people pushing it are the people profiting from it. It is now built into most platforms. And we have no choice. This is not an organic progression of needs being met. It is us being herded to fill the pockets and agenda of Silicon Valley
You're missing the point I made. We do have to use it unless we want to handwrite our work products...it's in Word, it's in Outlook. In Google. That is not how most technology works.
You don’t have to use it in Word. It’s a choice when you’re on the word document. But that’s true when you get a bundle of products from most companies, such as Microsoft, etc.. I see it on Facebook, but I don’t need to use it.
AI is going to be the worst thing that has ever happened to the world. Nothing promoted by billionaires is good. Musk, Zuckerberg, Altman … all bad people. Greed has turned them all evil.
All that money leads to almost absolute power, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It is the nature of the beast to be insatiable and end up devouring even itself. History is a thing, people.
I don't deny that at all. I have been of the belief that he's "one of the good ones". That's why this take is shocking to me. Especially in this moment, it seems elitist and tone-deaf. I expected more, I guess, given his good work with drug pricing.
He's not saying to invest anything more than time with it. Become familiar with what it can do. 35 years ago, people thought the same about the internet and email.
Yes, and along with the useful, good stuff the internet is also full of racism, hatred, scams, stupidity and abuse to mention a few of the downside. Then there’s the DarkWeb…
True. The wheel has led to us painting the Earth with asphalt. A cost-effective method for teaching people could have an undesirable effect of creating educated people in countries that never invested trillions of tax dollars in schools.
Benefits of a cheap learning tool. I wouldn't hold back my personal investment in it just because Mr. Cuban invests in it. What kind of advice from a Shark are you looking for?
I have to disagree with at least 1/2 of this list. The first three have already been farmed out to digital agents. No humans gonna get hired for them. Several others are just sheer nonsense.

Is this billion measured against a basket of goods and able to change? If so, which ones and why?
Does this mean a competitor could brigade to manipulate the market to force a competitor’s company or assets to be confiscated?
whoever "brigades the market" or whatever should be executed/imprisoned. hope this helps
no one needs that much money, and it causes too much societal harm and harm to humanity for that much wealth to be tied up in one person/company
