Any UK answers?

Out of interest how did UK people come to choose their NFL team? I worked in Allentown, PA for a couple of years and was taken to see the Eagles so that was me done 🦅 💚

Bitter opposition to my friends! They had teams in the NFC East (Giants and Cowboys) so I picked Washington! We had a team with Mark Rypien and an aging Art Monk, won the SB that year (1991). Followed them since.

Always played as Green Bay on the sega mega drive on Madden back in the day. I liked the colour scheme of the kit tbh. When I researched them further I found they were the only fan owned club/ franchise & won’t ever be uprooted from Lambeau. I was sold from then on.

When I was 5 we went on a family holiday to the states, and spent a few days with a family in Georgia. They told me I supported the Atlanta Falcons. They had guns, this family. I was a good boy and thus have supported the Falcons ever since.

9/11 weirdly shaped my life. I joined the London fire brigade a few years later, went on a 9/11 anniversary trip with the work lads many years later, went out on the beers with ground zero firefighters, one of which was a massive Giants fan. In the 80’s the Albion were really poor, and channel 4 was showing this guy Marino throwing touchdown after touchdown which I found pretty amazing (and a bit of a pick me up after another Baggies loss) so I picked the Dolphins.

My "Aunt and Uncle" (actually, my mum's best friend & her husband) moved to Canada in the late 70s, and then the US.

They sent my two brothers and me hoodies for Christmas one year.

My cousins lived in San Antonio, Tx, and sent me a mini-football emblazoned with the Houston Oilers logo, plus a t-shirt that featured Warren Moon. So I became an Oilers fan.

Confusingly, the following year they sent me a Chicago Bears football jersey.

Me and my mate Russ had watched the 1985 season without choosing sides. When it got to the Super Bowl we tossed a coin to see who each of us would support "for life".

I was so smug when I 'won' and chose the Bears, who won by a street.

He, of course, got the Patriots. How'd that work out for us?

Started watching on C4, Dolphins had a big jawed all American rookie QB with an amazing arm. I took a dislike to him with a vengeance. Dan Marino. They got to the Super Bowl against the 49ers so I supported the 49ers and have ever since. Their QB was. A bloke called Joe Montana. He was good.
