It's striking how SCOTUS could decide the TikTok ban in a few days but delayed and sat on the question of presidential immunity for months.
The Court can move quickly when it wants to. When it came to ensuring Trump could be brought to trial for Jan. 6, it just didn't want to.

And people still blame Garland…
I don’t know why anyone is surprised by how low Republicans will go. Think low, then go LOWER

It is an abomination for judges to betray their duty and put a thumb on the scale through legal loophole navigation for their preferred outcome

Presidential immunity
Tik Tok owners who they’ll sell to, maybe at a lower price, or maybe he looks the other way for some kickbacks.

Go Elon, Go!
And many are presently suggesting that more time would have helped make the TikTok opinion better.
Anyway, my point was that the Trump case was controversial at scotus, which slows things down. Eg, writing a dissent, responding, etc.
It's dispiriting to see so many of the cautionary tales of my youth come fully to life in my time.
Of course, no one asked them to make a Decision for the Ages when they decided the immunity issue. They'd been asked to rule on A particular issue on A particular case. They decided to run with it.
