If you hear or see something enough times, no matter how repulsive & obviously dangerous & bad for you, you can become conditioned to accept it. Even glamorize it in your mind. How I Quit https://campralquitsmoking.net /

Doesn't matter HOW we get there, just that we do :)
Proud of you, friend I've never met
Ha!
Friends, I found ways to do all those things without a cig.
No relapses
Sssshplendid !!
I smoked when they literally cost $.50 a pack. When they went up to $.80 that was only one of my many incentives.
How can people that smoke dare complain about the cost of eggs? 🥚 🚬
It is hell. 😢
Spouse and I both tried for YEARS.
We both quit. It killed him, and damn near killed me.
It is NOT a thing you just do. It is harder to kick that heroin. You can look it up.
Don’t fall into the trap of ‘just 1 will do no harm’ .
It will , you will have to start all over again and all that hard work wasted .
I was a real bad addict and after years of trying finally cracked it .
It’s a long slog but worth it .
Just the smell of a smoker 🤢.
👏👏👏
It had the unintended consequence of forcing my Fil to quit, he’s got COPD and on oxygen.
!
I just can't imagine now...
Saw a guy at the gas station ask for 2pks, and it rang up to 23.83$! SO GLAD I QUIT!🥰
That was 33 years ago.
I started smoking when I was approx 12. Because where I grew up, it was prevalent at that age. 20 years ago, I quit with my husband, who had a "widow maker" heart attack and nearly died.
Why are celebs glamorising smoking again? That question was part of the headline about how some unthinking and selfish celebrities are once again promoting the dirtiest, smelliest, unhealthiest, intelligence-lowering, and ugliest habit in history: smoking.
Tried many times but never got past 24 hrs.
Used to buy 20 , smoke 2 or 3 n leave em in the bar . Good intentions but weak willed . Eventually went cold turkey, on the basis of just hit 24 hrs , then 48 n so on .
Was murder , but I knew 1 fag = back to sq. one .
Fresh breath etc
expensive to continue.
In my lifetime, it went from smoking anywhere as completely acceptable, to my kids never seeing it.
The patch method for me was incredibly helpful. Highly recommend it. 👌
Quiting Marijuana now your pushing it !
Oh and 6 month no alcohol!
5:00 in the am my surgeon woke me to tell me what she saw (the gall is next to your liver) was not a good looking liver! She recommended I quit drinking! My response was "even beer" unfortunately that is included! Stopped at 5:15 that am!
Edibles are legal in Canada now thank gawd 😂🥰👏
I remember my home growing up with it's works of art doubling as ashtrays and having a traveler's suitcase designed perfectly to carry the scotch and it's accoutrements...
Times have changed -
FYI even if you never get cancer you will still suffer from Emphysema which in turn causes blood clots, strokes and heart attacks.
Nicotine risks outweigh the rewards IMO.
Just in case it helps, a little background info.
I was in my mid 30s when I finally quit. I had smoked and worked in bars for 18 years by that point.
Congratulations to you though👍🏻
Grandma quit cold turkey when a packet went up to a few shillings. She lived to 99.
Best decision I ever made in my life was to quit!
Cigarettes, Elon & tRump, they’ll all kill you in the end.
😳
not had a cigarette in over 25 years!
Feels good to quit, doesn't it? 🥳
I learned that nicotine is actually more addictive than heroin. The reason being our mind forgets the heroin high, but never the nicotine one.
Lungs live their own lives, I guess
Same for me. Quit for 2 years, went to a party, drank…
Quit again 30 years ago. Found it MUCH harder the second time.
Have nightmares about smoking again 🤣🤣😂😂😬😬😬
Well done 👍 on quitting!
ROFL.
Didn’t make that mistake again!
then (later on), vape?
than is the word you're looking for. not then.
I was 17.
Had to stay away from the pub for 3 months. Absolutely no will power after 2 pints
20 years for me.
😆😆
Was even more addicted for another 15 years.
Finally had enough, and wore the patch.
21mg 4 weeks
14 mg 4 weeks
7mg 2 weeks
done
that was almost 10 years ago.
nicotine is bad news. ruined my teeth.
However, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
And still smoking's glamorized.
My new mantra:
*grrr* Must. Not. Take. My. Irritability. Out. On. My. Family.
Here in Japan, when cable and networks rerun old Japanese films and TV shows, there are always two immediate giveaways to their age: people using "garakei" (⬇️) flip feature phones, and smoking.

It still looks attractive to me in movies because … conditioning. But when I see people on the streets, it looks sad.
I didn’t say a word to anybody.
That’s key.
You quit for you, no one else.
I’ve never looked back.
Then one day it hit me. Hey I can use that as motivation, so I told all my buddies "I'm done!"
It worked :)
I failed every time I told someone.
I had to be accountable to myself, no one else.
It took a month for one of my friends to notice.
Will never have another drag, because I know I will be back at it within days if I do. Same with drinking for that matter. Guess I'm straight edge now. Very punk lol
