The two-term Republican president who rode a tech bubble while hollowing out the country and creating actual slaves around the world through his trade policies? Say it ain't so. In a marriage with a "Dem" candidate who bought the DNC? Tony Blair sends thoughts and prayers. Me? Meh.
Hmm… not sure I totally agree. His age and fever would definitely look good on his CV, but how serious is the fever? If it’s life threatening, then he’s in. If not, he’ll probably be primary’d out by someone with something more terminal. That’s modern Dem politics 101😆
I believe his time is done. If the Dems want to survive, they must hand it over to the younger generation with more progressive ideas. The Clyburns, Pelosis and Bidens aren't exciting for anyone but those over 50.
Governing isn’t all about excitement. Having said that I’m a big fan of AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Maxwell Frost, Robert Garcia, Jon Ossoff, Ayanna Pressley and Brian Schatz to name a few.
Not governing, but elections. Populism is what people want, not moderation and status quo. It's always best to adapt one's message to the current worries and issues.
Well, he’s not gonna be a senator so it’s not a real argument. But as far Clinton, Clyburn and Pelosi are concerned, a balance between having seasoned elders and wise youth is the dem mix I’m looking for not one or the other.
Those seasoned elders are a little overseasoned. You can't pass policies and represent younger people when the much, much older generation are objecting to everything.
Casual reminder that the Clintons had slaves. Not their ancestors, but Bill when he was governor. Staff to the governor's residence was provided partially by the state's prisons.
You'll learn that Clinton arrived to the presidency with these ideas, and he did not need to be pushed by republicans. And that the fight between Clinton and GOP was not about whether or not to cut social welfare, increase policing, or free trade but by how much. .
This gave an performative illusion of major economic policy difference between Clinton's "New Democrats" and Republicans at the time, which was not the case, and he helped the team-sportification, esp. when GOP impeached,
I was using the word colloquially. I believe he defamed her, though that’s civil. And topics of consent, agency, and coercion are complex w/ a President and a young intern.
But sure, let’s be technically correct. He treated Lewinsky unconscionably. He probably criminally raped Juanita Broaddrick.
I'm sorry he won the presidency at all and nothing to do with acts of personal violence, which I regard as between the victims, perpetrators, and the state's enforcement arms and move me little in politics (unless my personal or political enemies get on the receiving end).
Can a former president run as a representative or senator? I know Taft went on to the Supreme court, but never heard of a president going back to legislature. Either way, don't give him ideas.
Hillary Clinton's already filled the US's "Senator Clinton" quota.
The Dems aren't going to let either of them back, in spite of them both being better people (and I say that with obvious reservations) than pretty much all the Republicans.

For the rest of you. You can wait in the parking lot and hope you don't die before they receive insurance company authorization.
I agree with you about the outcome of his trade policies.
Please, study the policies and ideologies of the "Democratic Leadership Council" and "Third Way Democrats."

1. No serving past 65
2. Term limit of 4 years
