Hi dear, I hope you look at my family with compassion. My little sisters are crying from hunger and extreme cold. My brother almost died from extreme cold. Please, I don't want to lose any of my family. Donate and share.🙏🥺

Meanwhile, 52% of the country thinks they’re one tax cut away from rubbing elbows at Mar-a-Lardo instead of one missed paycheck away from living in their car.
The original version of your post (which you deleted) had the second screenshot be a headline saying "US to send $1.25 billion in weapons to Ukraine", as if to suggest a causal link between aid to Ukraine and increased homelessness. Can you at least be honest about why you oppose aid to Ukraine?
wonder what Ken’s angle is here? Is he friendly with the Kremlin? Going after aid to Ukraine is bizarre, unless you’re on Putin’s payroll or a useful idiot
I can’t blame them too much, since their country offers no real leftist alternative. Mindless contrarianism is all they have to cling to under the crushing boot of capitalism
When someone has been digging a hole for 4 years (with help) and then you have to refill it (with people actively trying to stop you) are you going to get that hole filled?
No.
Now make that span clear back to...1981 for reasons.
How deep is that hole?
Well I take issue with your premise since you seem to think Dems have been trying to refill it and not just shifting dirt around and telling you they are. Dems are still capitalists
I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying that even with them being perfect we are still in a negative.
When you add in the moving the dirt from one side to the other to fix "miner issues" (badum tsh) then it's much lower than that.
Perhaps (maybe possibly) this is why the democrats lost. They bragged about their economy while it was actually creating millions of new homeless people.
It’s a great time of year to visit parking lots before dawn. You’ll see solitary cars 20-50 yards apart, windows covered in condensation, illuminated from the phones of the inhabitants who wake up frequently throughout the cold night
They just built a homeless shelter in my county. The mayor said its completion was a testament to what can get done when the federal, state, local governments, private sector and NPO's all work together.
This country is cooked.
Housing should be the easiest thing government does, not the hardest
Homelessness and housing insecurity is part of the reason the Dems lost. Biden actually said 4 years ago, that housing was going to be a priority. Never happened
Biden admin: "Why don't people seem to be happy when we tell them about our record breaking economy!? Why aren't they pleased with us for feeding them directly into the machine that powers a billionaire's 2nd yacht??"
*From the Atlas Shrugged Ethical Altruism Billionaire Dick-Riding Economics Chair at Stanford/* "actually, billionaires *voluntarily earned* more from millions more becoming homeless
It's really not, individual localities and municipalities are the reason why housing is so expensive, each individual homeowner doesn't want their property values decreasing.
NIMBYs are the reason why housing is so expensive, not billionaires.
So is it your belief that private equity flipping ownership of apartment complexes every 6-12 months, and using that as an excuse to raise rent w/o adding value, has no effect? Because that was my experience. $825/mo at move in, $1275/mo 2 years later.
A lot of the issues with increasing housing supply revolve around zoning laws. A LOT of it does. Particularly in the Boston metro area. (Also in most others - he’ll, I’m in suburban Maryland and we had one hell of a fight with other homeowners fighting new multifamily housing neighborhoods)
I mean, the government could, in theory, build a very large amount of public housing by taxing the shit out of billionaires. But like, there’s better uses for that money when we could get the same thing basically for free by just changing a bunch of environmental and local zoning regulations.
The corporations doing this brag to their investors that they target areas with the most nimby laws and admit in their SEC filings that a boom in home construction is a serious threat to their earnings
Remember when the left tried to warn them about trickle down economics? The fake ‘economics’ term invented by Reagan to justify this hellscape? Ppl bag on the Green new Deal but it’s just righting the ship

But, doubling your money in 10 years only requires a 7% interest rate.
That's less than what index funds of the stock market get.
In summary, choosing to let fellow be homeless is weird and bad.
Money doubling in 10 years is not weird.
No.

The homeless that aren’t seen and aren’t counted
Weird.

NIMBYs are the reason why housing is so expensive, not billionaires.
Look at *any* attempt to build local housing and you'll see hundreds if not thousands of examples of NIMBYs blocking development.
But it's like, 3%
Want to screw the corporations buying houses and jacking up rents?
Build 10,000,000 apartments.
Corporations buying up real estate is another
Particularly when the top 100 people in the USA own as much as the bottom 90%.
Eat the rich.
Housing prices being too high are because NIMBYs are too numerous.
