An underrated factor in how we got ourselves into this mess is that Americans are increasingly relying on computers and the internet instead of their own critical thinking faculties (AI is making this even worse), and as a result are uninformed and easy to manipulate.

Kellyanne Conway, spokesperson for the first Trump administration, introduced this strategy to America when she spoke about “alternative facts” on ‘Meet the Press.’
Or Canada is another country across a really big river with clear signage
I have a simple message:
More Honest and Merciful Government.
Problem is the huge percentage of selfish, cruel people.
Brain drain big time.
Man, if you eat organic versus commercially grown food, you feel the difference.
Nutrients matter.
Critical thinking is a lost art in this country. Sad!

Canada has the same internet & are very liberal. South Koreans love to all be online & they just got rid of their guy who tried the coup. Germany voted the right way.
No one is sheeting the ship.

AI allows me to recheck facts and figures. And it lists and links its sources.
AI requires reading ability, and illiteracy is our core issue. ⬇️
AI trains users to ask better questions. That’s a key to critical thinking.
And, thank you for what you are doing.
The problem happens when people rely on a few sources that they chose via confirmation bias and they don't cross check anything.
MAGA thinks illegal means they need to go without considering the wider context or asking themselves why no other administration before them has done it already.
They want simple solutions to complex problems.
This is a human problem, not an American one.
Ethics is a business term. This isn’t an HR dispute.
Often misses key points, lacks nuance, and sanitizes the controversial.
Also please remember to blame Mitch McConnell.
It’s 100% out education system. There is zero critical thinking taught and how to read research papers and media literacy.
There’s also this thing called confirmation bias as well.
If one of these 4 things were taught in schools then it wouldn’t be so bad.

came from the left but the extreme right was much better at applying it’s discursive strategies.
And we can learn it ourselves.

Many live in an alternate hellish USA.
In my experience (in AU), critical thinking isn't taught until university. We need an education system with these skills taught from primary right through to tertiary level.
Check your sources and think.
The average American adult reads at the 6th grade level.
America is the dumbest developed country on the planet and it’s not even close.
Too many folks have been taught that the world is unknowable.

That is the future of AI widespread use.
Companies CAN utilize it effectively but have to screen for that.
Fast forward to 2025, all of the people surrounding him now are willing to be lawless ghoulish Henchmen.
But "they're eating the cats"? Or "107% of new jobs are being taken by illegal immigrants"?
Or this? Erm 🤦♂️

1. Russian cyops warfare
2. Republicans desperate to cling to power but unwilling to refresh policy
3. Americans willingly and unwillingly going to #1
This simple and foundational math cheat shapes government policy at all levels
Yes, ALL levels - because state legislatures create state policy - everything from ballot access to health care
One thing that _is_ different is that we used to have gatekeepers. In the 90's we thought that "disintermediating the gatekeepers" would be a good thing. Well...
Ans those little brains are constantly bombarded by coordinated {insert BS here} from the GOP through Social Media, Fox, Poscasts, and other communication vehicles
Dumbing down the electorate has been the GOO's strategy for a long time.
Oh yeah, that's right, they were to blame for American invasions of Vietnam, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and countless other countries in the last 80 years, right ?
It's a desire for American imperialism that's gotten you all to this level of dumbfuckery
A lot of us know exactly what's happened and the role those little gadgets and social media have played.
That's how we arrived at 14 years of thieving Diversity Dream Team squeamish Toraidhe Scumbags & Brexit;
