its 1f here, two days ago it was 60f. Swings in temp like that are common only in deserts or in the desertification process, when land becomes desert. Look around, because I see those swings of 40-60 degrees happening everywhere.
I live in Alaska...it's been a strange winter. December we usually have 10 to 20 weather. I haven't even pulled out my winter coat yet. I'm scared for this summer. 😳 The increased risk of wildfires grows exponentially with limited snow cover in the "winter"
We are getting a lot of wind from the north & along with all the rain it made it colder. I don’t get it. We finally have a cold winter & y’all are still complaining? It’s been almost a decade I’ve seen snow during Christmas.
so basically, there's this season that occurs in the earth's climate when the sunlight absorbed by the earth is spread out the most compared to any other point in the year, and this is referred to as "winter"
It's about 18 outside here but should go up to a lovely 42! Unusual for December which has historically been our coldest month. I have noticed in the past 19 winters the temps have been going up. We no longer have ANY nights when the temps drop to 10 or 20 below zero, which was normal!
I know
I used F because I was responding to an American and C is something they aren’t used to
I am of an age where I am fluent in F and C as well as metric or Imperial 😊🇨🇦
Now, I don't disagree about the other measurement systems. Metric is clearly better. But I like Fahrenheit scale. When j go outside, I could care less how water would feel. Below 0°F, a human is too cold. Above 100°F, a human is too hot. It is just a comfort scale between.
Water freezes at 0C and boils at 100C. Very uncomplicated and useful when trying to analyze road conditions and what to wear relative to water's freezing point.
Oh, I get it. I'm a scientist. I know the metric system. I was just saying that Fahrenheit is a subjectively more useful scale for judging human comfort. Celsius makes sense for cooking, baking, science, etc.
Aww, absolutely adorable bless you, I hope you have a lovely Winter Solstice and warmest wishes for the Yule, I hope you have so much fun, bless you all with peace, love and happiness to you blessed be❤️🎅🎄🧚♀️✨️😘...
I always had a megaphone on the Harris side.
We always had a few MAGA come on our side of the street trying to harass & intimidate us. The last Friday before the election I nearly came to blows with a couple of women who were close to hitting an older woman in our group with a flag pole.
Edmontonian here. We had a chinook blow in a few days ago, and it’s really bumped up our temperature. Actually had rain on the 21st for the first time ever. Last week it was around -4 Fahrenheit.
Calgary, which is three hours south of us, gets a lot of chinooks that blow in from the Rocky Mountains. But we get quite a few, too. So it’s not even climate change in this instance. Just the weirdness of air masses. So weird to think of NC and northern Canada having the same temp right now, tho.
Can confirm about Anchorage. Coming home now from 3 weeks there, where it was in the 30-50° range the whole time. And no snow. Really not a good situation.
Frankly I'm surprised my husband gave up his insistence we move to Hawaii from Michigan. 70° in the winter was a huge selling point for him. I'm sure I'll hear about it again once he's retired.

It was -4 fahrenheit in Edmonton two weeks ago.
Philly needed a blanket of clouds to reflect the heat back to earth.
Hell is freezing over
