Without looking up actual timeline, Public Advocate (Jumanee) takes over duties and calls special election w/i short set time to serve out the term. The regular mayoral election is in November, so not that much further off. Low turnout election would probably produce an ok result for progressives.

I hope not. While I'm all for efficiency, Adams can still do a lot of damage in a month. The suspension would initially be for 30 days to allow him to present his defense, so theoretically if she initiated the process on or after 2/24, this might be sufficient to place his removal on it after 3/26.
