If millions of *young* men can keep their sexual orientation private or hidden from their friends, coworkers, and others while pretending to be hetero, it’s for damn sure that there are men who can keep their actual politics in the closet while nodding along with their Trumpie friends.
Hey! @sthomas451.bsky.social i just have to say that seeing "Panic! at Nabisco" pop up in my mentions cracked me up a little, so thanks for that! I need every little lift I can get from now until Tuesday night (at least)
I think he’s legally fine. The shirt had a flag and said “try that in a small town,” which, despite its problems, isn’t campaigning, & it was mostly covered. Unless the hat was a Trump hat (I couldn’t discern the emblem on my phone), I don’t see anything for a poll worker to even question him about.
Interesting to note that the cliche continues to be all about men as bullies. Unlike the female version, where the wife is afraid of the husband’s reaction, here the man is afraid of other men’s reactions. Men, take the hint.
I was just wondering if men were secretly lying about who they were going to vote for! It’s still so difficult for me to believe that we are still at 49% 49%! This is nuts! 🥜 🌰
That’s because they aren’t at 49:49, the polls this year are all complete horseshit because AI is being used to “collect” it.
If you look at a collection of the results across swing states you can tell, all within 3.5% margin of error, like 7 people all flipping a coin 100 times and getting 50:50
There are AI companies that are selling “voter models” to pollsters who they then ask who they would vote for, the herding (which creates abnormally, frequently tight results) comes from when the ai gives answers that “do not make sense” and are asked follow up questions to confirm preconceived bias
I suspect there are a lot of men lying the other way. I have a family member who likes to pretend he's a centrist, but I can feel him leaning more and more right with every passing year. Mediocre white men will be the death of us all.
I care about weed more than I care about any people but I also think we could well get Prohibition 2 under the extended stay of trumpism so that statement tracks.
The very possibility that someone can look you in the eye across the "booth" is already a form of voter coercion, not to mention the possibility that someone might demand to see a picture of your ballot (a controlling spouse for example).
In Brazil it's one voter in the room at a time and no phones are allowed. Voting is compulsory to avoid people coercing voters not to vote. Voting machine has a big button to just vote NOTA. Elections are on Sunday.
There's no postal voting, no proxy voting, no early voting. Everyone votes in person in one day and the result is out in a few hours. Registering is compulsory and everyone gets voter ID.
It's a campaign ad for Harris... The entire point is to motivate to vote for her. You also have a trans icon in your username. Try not to imply that there's any other option but to vote for her here lol
Yeah, true. I just this the message of "you don't have to worry about peer pressure in the booth" would fit better if it weren't backing any candidate. (But yeah, i do agreeshe is the only one we can really vote for thats practical)
But like here’s a thing — the Trump campaign could have put out their own version of this ad on the same premise BUT THEY DIDN’T because more voting isn’t a winner for them.
Civic-mindedness is inimical to the GOP.
Their platform is explicitly shrinking the franchise.
they're all one family going to vote in a giant bus. didn't you see the phone lock screen. Grandma has ten boys. he even says that's his dumb-ass brother at the end.
they were just doing a Dude Walk apart from the women those guys, on the way in
look I'm just desperately trying to explain to myself, the sudden small blonde daughter, the guy across from him being in the family photo, and these brothers voting together with family.
maybe they're Catholic like my family of origin and it really is ten brothers.
the other ad had less math in it
c'mon, it's 2024, and the usa still doesn’t use computers to vote?
brazil, a country less wealthy than los americanitos is actually the great reference with its electoral system. we use voting machines that are fast to tally and run their own programs to measure data efficiently lol
I attempted to find this on YouTube (unsuccessfully) so I could send it to my mom. But I did find that Murdoch and Anschutz properties globally are melting down about the first one.
i know it’s been like a decade now, but i can’t help but think it’s wild that danica patrick of all people is lecturing about the portrayal of women in advertising lmao
I think this is a much-overlooked voting block when it comes to the media. Women are overwhelmingly favoring Harris/Walz, but there is a large chunk of men who support the Harris ticket, too. Women and educated, evolved men are going to tip the scales far away from Trump and toxic masculinity.
I think they released it at the same time as the women in the booth ad. this one just didn’t get as much attention because it shows a grown white man being a good human being
maybe up to 4 in 10 voters don't know their votes are secret, and up until the 20th century, it wasn't (and that's part of the 20th century conservatives are vowing to repeal)
I love the comment on YouTube that says "I'M GOING TO VOTE HOW I DAMN WELL PLEASE" and the responses that say "Yes, that is the point of the video. Well done".

Pushing this to the county-dem-party media accounts I manage.
I wish we had this last month.
I love that ❤️

Website of one of the companies selling ai models for this purpose: https://aaruaaru.com
Then they came for my bros
We call it voting "blank".
White men stop being fucking cowards challenge.
they already said make America great again clearly hinting that the guy we see is going to go the other way
Anti trans language is explicitly in the GOP/maga platform.

If anyone is looking for it's counterpart on YouTube
Was that incorrect?
I keep thinking of Team America World Police.
They just need Matt Damon for the trifecta.
I am terrible. 😂
