My initial reaction is that he got played. But this seems to have been a joint decision between Ford and the Feds. This was likely a play to moderate Canadians who don’t want an escalation without “good faith attempts” being made. The electricity export tax will likely be back on by Thursday
The riotously funny thing is that as Premier of a province he has bugger all authority to be negotiating anything at a national level. His power ends with the electricity surcharge (& the retail booze boycott) since most of the generation assets are provincial government owned.
