I was able to trade in my Tesla model Y for a chevy equinox ev. I received the tax credits POS, and beat any Tariffs. My insurance went down substantially.
If it’s not a CT I kinda get it. Dealerships probably don’t want them. They’re going to have a hard enough time moving their own inventory. Tesla doesn’t even want them.
I have seen a ton of Teslas being used by rideshare drivers and I empathize entirely. The mileage and charger availability was probably right for them when they made the purchase. Doesn't mean they make enough to take a loss on the vehicle.
Yeah I think it’s super weird because Tesla went from signifying “wow that is a wealthy person who cares about the environment” to meaning “that is a gig worker who does not have health insurance” real quick. Not what I’d do with my brand, personally.
Nah, plenty of people are unplugged. Unless you’re invested in cars you’d rarely know the name of the CEO of your brand, even one as annoyingly vocal as Musk.
I have no sympathy for the CT owners. People who bought a Tesla before about 2019 do get more of a pass.
It was not really obvious how bad/evil Elon was back then. The early Elon biographies painted him as an underdog with a noble mission, and many people believed that.
What really sucks, this is the bs that nazis want us divided over. Most tesla owners (trucks excluded) didn’t vote for the current… we shouldn’t fight amongst ourselves
Most people still buy with a loan and most teslas bought in the past 3 years are dramatically (like 15k-50k) upside down if folks maxed out the payback time to afford it. Would need that much cash out of pocket. Simply undoable for many making 1k-2k payments plus insurance. They're so car poor.
I think my issue is these are car owners who had more money than sense when they got it in the first place. It was never a highly rated car for safety or usability. Elon trashed the divers in 2018.
I know Tesla owners! All good people, but never the most astute.
I literally know three people in the second largest city in America who have in earnest been trying to sell their Teslas and cannot. Your fantasies are not reality.
Yes but also the Cybertruck drivers are a whole different breed of sycophants. They bought a literal death trap, it's uninsurable and barely drives, nor does it function like an actual truck. Yet they insist they still love the car. They're beyond help!
Well that and the fact that Elon had clearly already gone off the deep end by the time it was manufactured, but yes. They knew, and they still bought the car, because they think he's a genius and maybe it'll rub off on them if they drive his uglier, shittier, deadlier version of the Ford Pinto.
I actually don't begrudge people that have non-CT Teslas already. I understand not wanting to or being able to sell.
It's the CT owners who should be mocked mercilessly because those monstrosities have no redeeming values and 100% represent Musk personally (they're his baby).
There are new designs of the model S and the model y that absolutely should be mocked, just fyi. The model y remodel wasn’t even available for preorder until late January. I saw one driving around and you bet I flipped that asshole off.
It's real nice that the two cheaper models were redesigned recently. Can tell exactly who bought very late into the bs.
Of course I've seen zero of the newest Y on the road around town and last I checked their lot seemed the same as before (plus 20 more CT) so I'll bet they have a sales problem.

Anyone who bought after, doesn't.
And I like the forgiveness bumper sticker too, just own this shit (the car)
And seems kinda unfair to Martha for the inside trading just saying
She went to jail because she lied about it to Federal investigators.
That was back in the days when before liars were running the Justice Department.
Fuck everyone with a Tesla lol

But a Cybertruck, or a Tesla 3/Y from 2024 onward? You are not fooling anyone.
not many people have enough equity in their vehicles to get a new car without adding cash.
and if its a lease the early turn-in penalties can be insane.
Tbh, a 15 year old used Toyota gas powered car is better right now. And will have more resale value down the line.
I know Tesla owners! All good people, but never the most astute.
The only people who wanted them were techbros and liberals with money/ folks who wanted an EV early on.
The F-150 set sure isn’t buying one.
He lost his built-in market, the moron.
And plenty of so-called liberals, with money.

But Cybertruck owners can eff off.

One cybertruck came through and the protest reacted very loudly & negatively.
I can’t afford to get rid of it sticker: class politics
