Am in process of deleting my posts over on EX. I am still undecided on leaving account and giving up my account name or leaving it open but not interacting.
Apparently, if it is inactive for a while, they will suspend you. I went to deactivate my backup account and found it was suspended. My last post was a retweet back in March.
Me too! Did it this morning. I was hanging onto it because there's a local one I follow, actually a few local ones, and they're not on BlueSky so I hesitated but finally just did it. I hadn't been on in days and so I logged in and looked at Notifications. Nothing but MAGAts talking shit. Deleted.
Me too! It's a relief not to have to see all the vitriol anymore. I stayed longer than I wanted for the up to the minute news, but Bluesky provides that now with so many of the accounts I followed moving over here now. I don't miss it!
I think the way they saw others build their follower list so quickly has motivated them to jump over here. I imagine it’s hard to leave when you have hundreds of thousands of followers.
I delayed, thinking I’d go back and check my bookmarks, or try to find the instructions on how to switch from X to bluesky, and I finally said eff it. And used my problem-solving question: Will it matter in 10 years?
I hear you- I only had almost 9k but have found a lot of my faves here already. In addition to the crazy owner, the way the platform was mis-managed pushed me over the top.
Be sure to remove the sign from your password app or key ring. Otherwise, any link to a post could get you automatically signed in and therefore, reactivated.
I will as soon as 1/10th of my followers there find me here.
It’s slow rolling for me. Lots of writers staying there because they never had the same experience politically active folks did.
