I hope you learn more than just crochet. Learning can be a joy through your entire life. Do new things, learn to sculpt clay, learn needlepoint, learn wood carving. Crafts are a wonderful thing and you will need them when you are old and decide to retire.

When we were in Aberdeenshire, Scotland a few years ago, we walked around the ruins of a castle where Bram Stoker wrote.

I taught myself to crochet recently. Highkey recommend starting with a pattern with one stitch, youtube has great tutorials. I started with a little tote bag thing. Also i started with cotton yarn which was helped see my stitches. Def don’t start with the big fluffy yarn

I read Dracula over and over as a teen. So many people can’t get past the vampire aspect of the story. 🥲 it’s SUCH a powerful story. I really think “monster stories” are more about what it means to be human than anything else.

Crochet is fantastic for anxiety! I learn really well by reading patterns, but there are also great video tutorials too. Just dont be discouraged, and keep trying new things. 💕 (and Dracula is a great book!)

As someone who crochets, this is how I learned: I watched YouTube and had someone show me how to do chains and single crochets, which are the most basic things in crochet. Then I literally just practiced by making a throw blanket out of single crochets, which taught me to turn rows

and make the edges straight. Then after that, learn the double crochet and half double, and you should be able to follow basic patterns and complete small projects. Granny squares are good for beginners because they are quick and easy and can be done with one or two stitches
