Remember tripping from Super Smash Bros Brawl? That mechanic basically everyone hated?
I should add that.
Every so often when you play a card, it just doesn't work. You pay the mana and everything and it just does nothing.
Oh yeah, that's good game design right there.

This would just be a middle finger to the player.
Let's add a random chance to trip when they move that'll show them.
Came across the offender today and was also reminded of tripping
Also, add a random chance for your character to do an uninterruptible emote every 5 seconds.
Now it's a party game
Okay, I've set everything up for my combo to win the game. Now I just play this card and........... FUCK
However, I am not going to add the mechanic everyone hates that would add nothing to the game and be so much worse in a card game.
It could've been better thought out, but he was prioritizing fun over competition.
I didn't know there was an actual coin flip mechanic in pokemon tgc, that sounds fun lol
Yeah the original Pokemon TCG had a lot of coin flipping, but they kind of stopped because no good deck really likes to rely on RNG.
Though I did love coin flipping in MTG with Krark's Thumb
Give the player a (one use) card that:
+negates chance effects.
+inverts the outcome of a chance effect.
So now the player has to choose between betting or investing.
If it were the only game in town sure, but like MTG exists
The word of the cards having the final say is interesting, like CUBE or those quirky parody decks.
