THIS!!! This is how we make the government know we mean business!! We hurt the country pockets of his supporters. Leave everything meta. Stop shopping at target. Stop with Amazon Delete TikTok. Write the CEO’s and tell them you’re disappointment. Support left leaning small business
Reminds me of the scene in pretty woman when she goes out shopping and was denied, and went with tons of shopping bags and said “big, big mistake, huge”. The love this and I’m going tomorrow .
Some of the only power we have is how we spend our hard earned dollars. I support! I also support boycotts of bad brands as well as moving your money to better banks.
costco gives you two cards for each paid membership.
get a friend to go with you when you sign up, tell costco you're married, and use the same address on the form you will fill out - then split the cost of membership. (they do not ask for any proof)
just make sure ONE person does the paying when you sign up.
you don't want to say you're married than start splitting the sign up fee right there in front of them.
Target bowed to pressure and eliminated their DEI program. I called them this morning to cancel my card and to make a statement as to why. If the CEO reverses their stance and publicly apologizes I may reconsider shopping there. They used to be a favorite.
Target ended its DEI program and retooled it to become a ‘community/small business’ program so that they are more palatable to the orange felon and his republican administration
In full context they probably did it because govt contracts are now forbidden from dealing with anyone that does DEI. Target still doesn’t support the GOP. Here in Mobile my protest can only go so far, I buy what I can at Costco and do the rest at Winn Dixie or Target
You can get a list of all the Black businesses which have products that are sold via Target and just by them. Roland Martin does a great break down on Target.
Do not let this DEI policy distract from the fact that they are not bargaining a good faith with their union and are treating their employees like completing garbage. This is just a wonderful PR tactic. Don’t be distracted.
I knew someone who worked for Costco many years ago. She praised them from the rooftops for their great salaries and benefits. She was able to make and save enough to start her own business. I think they’ve always been a pretty good company.
Costco uses a formula to determine pricing so it can be different in each area based on the cost of sales. It may be more costly for them to sell here which would raise the price.
I looked it up, they never mark up prices more than 15% above cost for members. Based on pricing analysis it looks like Amazon is marking prices up 35-50% now.
You can also shop at Costco online, I just did a big order tonight. I typically save 20-30% for most items compared to Amazon. Costco makes their profit from Costco cards so product prices are amazing. They also have 2-day free shipping on most things. Having stores is a big advantage.
Costco is a PNW company that is now headquartered in Issaquah, Washington. The founders were James Sinegal and Jeffery H. Brotman who are local legends starting several big companies back before Costco. Jefferey has passed away and James must be close to 90 but their values live on.
I've heard that from other people. My wife and daughters go the store far more often than I do (impulse buyers). I'm an online shopper most of the time but I do go to the Issaquah store too. It's a 10-15 minute drive from The Summit and about the same from the ranch on Hwy 900 (in normal traffic).
Same. Nearest store is over an hour away, so I bought a membership and placed an order for 2-day delivery. I panicked about the possible coffee tariff but I’ll be set for awhile. Happy to support Costco and ditch Sam’s Club.
But you can get a hot dog without a membership, and liquor, and prescriptions, I believe. My kids drive across the country regularly and I tell them to find Costco for their pit stops, gas and lunch. I also exclusively rent cars from Costco travel. Zero hassle in 10 years.
Unfortunately, the food court now requires a membership, at least at my local store. Pharmacy is still available without membership. Not sure about liquor (not that my local store stocks anything harder than beer anyway, thanks to KS's bass-ackwards liquor laws.
Oh no! I’m IA, but the kids are out East and the separate liquor stores throw me. I wandered around Trader Joe’s in Albany for a while before I overheard a trainer explaining NY liquor laws.
Well, I just read a little more on this and apparently the liquor is only in some places. The gas, I think you can get it but you don’t get the discount?
I'll look into doing that; there's no Costco in NYC—but no Wal•Mart either, and I'm disgusted to see all the Wal•mart boxes being ordered all the time by people in my building.
I refuse to shop at Wal•mart!
Thanks for posting this! I despise Jeff Bezos for sucking up to Trump, donating millions to his inauguration, while refusing to pay his employees a decent wage. I want to boycott Amazon and am looking for alternatives.
I cancelled my Amazon Prime and Subscribe & Save items in November. The weird thing is they've been sending Beni's dog treats anyway except I've received three free 10 packs so far. I think it's a protest movement by Bezos' abused, underpaid shipping teams. Beni's happy but getting kind of plump.
Billionaires just go with the flow apparently. Their whole life is centred around money, that is why they are billionaires. They just follow money, trusting them to do something right is dumb.
per the article suggested for you: "Given that just 5% of the company’s warehouse and distribution workers are unionized, the company can likely afford to let them walk out."
I think you assumed everyone was in the union. 🤦🏽♀️
18k is the number of workers in the union. The point is not whether or not the company can afford to let them walk. The point is that, as per the article, workers wages have not risen despite the company reporting steady growth.
Y’all remember how in The Good Place how no matter what you did, it somehow contributed to points against you. This is what it feels like irl (but we know there ARE better choices, even though keeping score is a mindf).
Per the article:
Given that just 5% of the company’s warehouse and distribution workers are unionized, the company can likely afford to let them walk out.
The closest one to us over 50 miles away. We usually go once every three months. We have a couple insulated bags for freezer/refrigerator items. The cost, including gas, is cheaper than two weekly trips to the local grocery store.
This more powerful, it shows other businesses how much money they are going to lose now and in the future. Boycotts take time, this may move people faster not to drop DEI.
I wish we had a Costco near us. We used to belong to one then we moved. Love Costco! He proves you can treat employees well and with respect and still make money!
You might check if they have 2-day delivery to your zip code. I read on their site it’s available nationwide, excluding Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. I’m also seeing on other forums you need to be in a specific zip code…
I think it’s good to consider other opinions about how we are all going about this. Both things can be true- we can feel like this is not the best way to get a message across but feel inspired by any action at all.
Have to say. I love the deals at Costco. But I just get creeped out by how tight people are together. Good company I just feel like an ant when I am in there. "Hello, welcome to Costco. I love you."
Costco is Great! 15% mark up is the lowest of most stores! Gladly pay my membership! Hiring 2 people 200 show up! Good pay! Good benefits! Treated with respect!
Have to say it was more a *demonstration* in solidarity than buying memberships - It's rather obvious Costco allowed them to do this, i.e., walking in without getting a cart.
Well then his buy in participants
Should be extremely happy
Because maybe their next stop
Will be The Happiest Place On Earth
Or
The Most Magical Place On Earth
A blanket claim that DEI violates the Civil Rights Act overlooks the intent and lawful implementation of most policies. While specific cases may cross legal lines, DEI initiatives align with the Act’s values of equality and fairness. Scrutiny should target individual policies, not DEI as a whole.
1. Partnering with historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), women's colleges, and organizations supporting veterans to expand the pool of qualified applicants.
None of your list is descriptive of the objectionable aspects of DEI.
No one who objects to DEI would object to your (incomplete) list of what DEI programs do.
DEI are individual policies written by the companies. If not implemented correctly, it could violate the Civi Rights Act, absolutely. The policy is what should be corrected. You do not throw out the baby with the bath water.
It is UNLAWFUL to perform discriminate hiring. DEI ALIGNS with this paragraph by ensuring equal opportunity in hiring by ensuring people don’t discriminate based on those characteristics.
You keep posting this thinking that you’re making a point, when instead, it’s literally describing DEI practices in ensuring discrimination is eliminated in the first place.
OF COURSE merit is considered when doing hiring… it’d put the company in a competitive disadvantage if they didn’t.
DEI does NOT violate Title VII because DEI does NOT mean the company skips over a white person just to hire a nonwhite person. DEI ENSURES the companies commitment to Title VII, opens up mentorship opportunities to those from underprivileged backgrounds, and prevents discrimination after hiring.
It ISN’T a factor in hiring or promotion. It is ENSURING that discrimination does not occur both in hiring AND in the workplace. You can keep reposting Title VII but it doesn’t mean you know anything you’re talking about.
And I’ve recruited dozens of Chief DEI Officers and CHROs not to mention countless others in c-suites for multi-mill/bill $ companies. If you’ve really seen what you CLAIM are abuses to DEI, then report it to whoever. But DEI does NOT allow for discriminatory hiring practices.
I can’t stand Al, but this is good… even though it’s a corporation, support those who genuinely support you… especially if the support continues in the face of adversity and push back
We know where Pam Bondi's efforts will be when she's not acting as Trump's personal lawyer, she'll be following and expanding Leon's efforts to make any boycott or buy-in a criminal act. Meanwhile she'll be throwing 100% support behind Federal strikebreaking.
For fun, go to Penn Holderness and the Holderness family videos on YouTube - he does some great parodies, and describes the Costco feelings well in a couple songs. Worth the time
We had memberships to both Costco and Sam's, but we told Sam's to kick rocks. But even without the anti DEI initiative, it still would've been the same if we were to keep just one. As a customer, Costco really is better, for real!
Can't wait to try it. I have easy access to Trader Joes and Aldi as well. With just the two of us, I always thought Costco might be just too many bulk items. What do you think?
There are Costco Business Centers that are bulk - regular Costcos you can shop like any other grocery store, especially when it comes to produce, meat, dairy, etc.
Parking at Costco and walking to the back of the warehouse for milk, eggs, regular groceries takes no longer than doing the same thing at Walmart. They're both huge, so I may as well go to Costco.
I buy just for myself.
$65/yr is worth. Gas is cheaper.
I think you can check it out as a Guest.
Also look at their app for warehouse and online-only items. There are electronics, home appliances, jewerly and expensive items with good discounts.
Can cancel and get $ back for the unused mo.
You can’t check out as a guest. Only people with a card can purchase things there. I think the exception is the pharmacy. You can use their optometrist too but must be a member to purchase glasses and contacts
Welp. Imma have to keep shopping at Trader Joe’s. It’s owned by Aldi but operates independently so I have to look into it but it’s literally how I afford to feed us these days. The prices are so much lower.
We don't have a large family but get all our non expiration items like toilet paper, detergent etc from Costco. Between them and Trader Joe's we are covered.
The way I look at it, I'm not going to stop using toilet paper. So a pack of 32 rolls for $19.98 makes sense. Pasta has a long shelf life, so a pack of eight one-pound packages makes sense. Add to that the high quality and I'll find room for everything. Those TP packs fit nicely behind my couch. 😉
Action not words..good on you Rev. Unlike Chuck Schumer who is all words no action.... that boring feckless drone and GOP doormat needs someone to light a fire up his ass.
Wow! That explains the crazy busy, but happy crowds at Costco today in Beaverton, OR. Also was a day off for schools, apparently. Thankful Costco is preserving civil rights
If you find the products to be too much see if you can share products that you get in bulk with friends or coworkers. Get a 50lbs of beans and distribute it and share the cost! Costco is great sometimes it is a lot for 2 people tho.
Two person household here. We try to buy as much as we can in bulk just to help save the environment.
The membership is worth it just for some of the basics.
This Is How WE THE PEOPLE—Stand Up Against Suppression—
Economic Buying Support— Or Economic Desaster By Refusing To Buy Or Use Services Of Companies Whose Policies Remove Americans Constitutional Rights!!
This is 100% the way. You heard them in their pockets and we hurt the economy. It’s the only way they will listen. We support only Democratic businesses who will stand up for this country .
I’ve Never Met A Perfect Person— I Respect People Who Try To Improve People’s Lives, Country And World! I Watched Him Speak Many Times On Numerous Media News Forums—I Disagree With Your Opinion.
Please don't just share on this forum. Tell your reps in DC what you think. Resist. It only takes a few minutes and best of all..it doesn’t cost any money.
We don’t need money in politics. We just need people to participate.
They will listen if enough people contact them. But nothing will change if everyone who is not for their agenda just waits until the next 12 hours on the first Tuesday in November 2026 or 2028.
1. communicate on a regular basis. 2. encourage others to do the same and 3. Follow me on Blue Sky. If I can get thousands or millions of Followers on Blue Sky my FB page and my YT videos I can monetize it for advertising. We don't need money in politics. We just need people to participate.
If it is just me and you and a dog named Boo it will not make much of a difference. If the 75M who voted against 47 will commit to just a few minutes every week or every month, it will. There are three things you can do. They only take a few minutes and they don't cost any money.
Yes! I feel the need lately to teach a civics class. We all need to be writing and calling our representatives about things that concern us. If congress receives thousands of communications about an issue, they start paying attention.
This is how to fix this. What do elected officials want more than anything? To get re-elected. Every day call/email one, dem or GOP. Let them know if they support these egregious policies you will actively campaign against them & send money to their opponent. Can't grift if you don't get elected.
This is what we have to do...demonstrate in support of policies we want at the grass-roots level...no one is going to do it for us, and it isn't going to come from leadership at the top. We The People...
Yeah, that's what I figured I'd do. Their delivery requirements might force me to hold off so I can place a big order (at least from what I've skimmed thus far), but they'll get a bit of my money this year.
Let’s get all states to promote and support people to buy at establishments where DEI policies will not change, I have my Costco membership! Shameful that 💩Republicans don’t understand that DEI policies do not just help one group of people!😡
Most definitely! you need all ideas to determine solutions!👏 and when I headed tech teams and taught tech classes, it’s amazing how different ideas led to different solutions coming from diverse groups of people! America is diverse but the 💩 GOP do not see ‘all’ Americans!
And the gas prices are awesome too. They do ship too. If you have instacart, they will deliver your groceries from Costco. I don’t know if instacart has a DEI issue, but I’m disabled and have to use it either way. I cut stores where I can. But it’s not always possible.
When instacart first started, all my deliveries were made by deaf people. I tried to learn a few signs to communicate when they arrived. Idk about their DEI policies, though.
Do not let this DEI policy distract from the fact that they are not bargaining a good faith with their union and are treating their employees like completing garbage. This is just a wonderful PR tactic. Don’t be distracted.
I’m actually getting my information from Costco employees with whom I am very good friends with that’s who I’m getting it from and no they are bargaining in bad faith and they are treating their employees like crap like every other giant corporation
I like their products, prices, store, and employees that’s HARDLY bending a knee 🤣. I’ll continue to go unless I hear more concrete certifiable info. You do what you think is right. I’m going to continue & shop at Costco
Black Americans will be our teachers. They know how to bring about change. Once again, here, they take the lead and show the way. Is this day finally the moment we really and truly have their backs? See things through to the end? Work alongside them? Now that "the man" is coming for us, too?
Rat Terrier, milk cube, fifty pennies and kkklanye. I kkklanyaed Rat Terrier, carrie Underwood and lee Greenwood on Spotify😅. If you have Spotify then join the movement to deplatform them.
🤣🤣🤣, Look at Trump and his cabinet pick and your white racist ass had to go there. There are more white people doing and getting away with a lot of shit. 😂 You people
Proof that money is a drug. As IF Snoop doesn't have enough money already. Maybe someone should remind him & all the greedy billionaires that greed is a 'deadly sin' in the Bible. HINT: Greed is the second deadly sin, listed after pride. OOPS! Looks like we have too much of each right now in power!
"Ya know, he could've just ordered a couple pallets of TP or some stock shares from home, this whole "do a public display to garner international attention but do literally nothing of substance like murdering oligarchs and Nazis" is like soooo 1960s progressive bullshit
You want to do something? Get the IRL Black Panthers, get the MOVE team from Philthy, get every militia member and radically motivated human being who's willing to fight to the death, and let's take this "takeover which will remain bloodless as long as WE allow it" straight to their fucking homes! ✊️
Start with the instigators, Musk, Joe Rogan, Alex Jones, Bannon, Miller, etc., then move up the chain.
The insanity Bannon, Rogan, Jones puts out is quite simply, inciting terrorism.
FYI, I don't think the Black Panther movement exist except in the mind of Fox, derived from two guys voting in 2008.
👆🏼 This is ABSOLUTELY KEY. Americans rarely successfully boycott because we love convenience. If Americans think supporting only businesses that support us is painful, wait until they feel the pain of what happens if we DON'T do this with absolute gusto. HITTING THEM IN THE WALLET IS RESISTANCE!
I've been weening myself off of the corporate teet for 20+ years now. I shop local, and thrift. I go to farmer's markets and u-pick.
I wish I had paid attention when my Grandma tried to teach me canning. I'm learning now though. Every little shift and change helps.
I'm still boycotting WalMart as I have for the PAST 30 YEARS since the WalMart boycott began over the WM econ effect in small rural towns. Where y'all been? And this is the problem with boycott- so haphazard and impromptu. 95% of my buying is at about 4 stores. And that's not changing.
I hadn't ever heard of Walmart until 2016. Wasn't in one until after 2017 when I moved to the EC to care for my parents. After commenting their customer service sucks, I was told workers aren't supposed to leave their posts so they're reluctant to help customers find things.
There is a new Costco under construction less than a mile from my house, I’m so excited! It should be finished this summer. My only hope is that they carry large sized adult incontinence underwear for my disabled son. As of right now, the only place I can order them for him is Amazon. 😭
We’ve been given no other option. When then world works to dehumanize us based on the color of our skin, all we have left is to fight for to preserve dignity. We will always remain resilient and resist!
I’ve always admired your resilience. The way he’s been trying to wipe out all those years of struggle with a stroke of a pen is disgusting. Unlike many, you pull up your boot straps and go to work, not sit behind a computer wallowing in self pity.
Trust me, each day we wake up knowing that the world either doesn’t recognize us or hates us. And for what, simply existing?!?! If we are to promote change we need to further the idea that our reflection is a part everyone else’s. We can’t evolve unless we engage and be present in our own humanity
The hard part is that Costco is also negotiating with their unionized employees, and while it is sausage making, some of the posts managers have made in stores in employee only areas feel not in good faith.
Yeah yeah, not a perfect world, but we can support them for DEI, let's support the union too
This, I feel like everyone is talking about their pledge to support DEI while not talking about the looming strike and the negotiations (or lack there of) that have been going on since mid December. I'll hold off on running out to get a Costco membership until after February 1
1/ I worked for a unionized Co. The Co & managers *did & *said many things that were, & cont to be, not in *good faith; which is sadly more common than not.
But the Union remains;it's power, wages,HC etc remain strong-
Which was the point of my comment. Costco is also a believer in higher wages.
A buy in! Brilliant! Boycotts do not work. Gathering people (a buyers club) who want to reward a good corporate citizen, that is an excellent idea. A great incentive for producers to sell locally (rather than export or sell to Walmart). It has been tried with the Co-op movement, to great success.
Do not let this DEI policy distract from the fact that they are not bargaining a good faith with their union and are treating their employees like completing garbage. This is just a wonderful PR tactic. Don’t be distracted.
a very small percentage of workers are represented by the union, and they only voted to authorize a strike - a negotiation tactic. I am from the home of Costco - shop at it's founding store. I have never personally spoken with an employee who had bad things to say.
What we had was a wild-ass opinion without the support of facts. I did not come over here to perpetuate negativity over things that work, as well as humans can work. Thank you for your opinion, shaped on facts.
Unions main job is to remind management of their presence. Or, they are irrelevant.
Lol I found one about a half an hour away... I don't know if I can justify 70 bucks a year just to shop at it once or twice a year. Lol still considering
Why do you think I still just keep my shitty old boss’s card? She was a cunt! I had to lie once and tell someone I lost 100lbs and needed a new pic. It’s really not worth it. 😅
Do not let this DEI policy distract from the fact that they are not bargaining a good faith with their union and are treating their employees like completing garbage. This is just a wonderful PR tactic. Don’t be distracted.

My Costco is always packed. You just have to know what you’re going in for, keep your head down, and of course end up with at least one impulse purchase. 😂
I didn't expect to have such a powerful reaction to this. This is so great and it feels like maybe, just maybe, people fucking care about us immigrants and minorities.
Nah man, the majority of us care. The ones that don’t are just really really uneducated racists that would rather hold on to fear than realize they are on stolen land
They are in control because of voter suppression before the election. Hundreds of thousands had their votes rejected because of minor discrepancies, while others were dropped from the rolls because of poison postcards. Check it out!
Let’s also not forget the mail in ballot boxes/drop offs that were caught on fire in Democrat heavy voting areas. The republicans cheated their way to controlling the government
Voter suppression and racial gerrymandering is the reason Trump won. There was 31% that voted for Trump. The rest didn't vote for Trump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edesFps6EDQ
They were given $25 gift cards, so that's how much most of them are going to spend. No need for a cart, and the next day there is no more gift card and so their Costco purchasing comes to an end.
it's hard to be supportive when you know this guy is just doing a performance stunt.
i wonder how many in his parade actually had a costco card, and if they were doing a "BUYin", why not a single one of them had a cart.
gimme something i can sink my teeth into - not something to shake my head at.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed the lack of carts. To be fair, you can only go in without a membership if you’re going to the pharmacy or have a gift card. Al gave $25 cards to 100 people. That would buy a couple small items at most.
This is great support but you know what’s next from the MAGA cult, some crazy is going to perpetuate violence against their customers. I’m not advocating that but that’s how these sick fucks think, compliance through intimidation and violence.
Me-ism: If you brainwash people really well, they will fall in line like sheep. Lie to them often, repeat those lies as fact, tell them what you want them to believe, convince them you are one in thought and equal in destiny, and they will be easily led.
You have to have some principles. If you have an organization that may well be harmful to immigrants and people of colour then have the courage and cojones to go shop somewhere else. No within yourself that you are doing the right thing. Otherwise know in your heart that you back a corrupt regime.
I had to go back and see what you pointed out. That guy in green being a total Nazi asshole. Hopefully someone got a good image of his face to post and share.
Are you absolutely sure? Because now we're treading into "what is this hand gesture territory 😂 people, if you are holding up a camera, please do so in a way that doesn't resemble any undesirable gestures. Maybe throw up a sign too. "I am holding a camera, not saluting the fuhrer."
LOL—when all 8 of my kids lived at home my husband and I took date nights to Costco and filled multiple carts. They’re all out now but I still buy in bulk there. Ahh, sweet memories of spending every dime.

Why is it so hard to be kind to each other
How come they don't have carts
Have never seen anyone shop there

Clearly - I did not get that
Thank you!
I love that they did this though 👍🏽

On related note: Buh-bye Target. It was great while it lasted.
Example: Expanding Recruitment to Underrepresented Groups
A company implements a program to improve diversity in its workforce by:
No one who objects to DEI would object to your (incomplete) list of what DEI programs do.
There's nothing new here from a legal or social standpoint. Don't take the bait.
It was a problem in the ‘90s, and it remains a problem today.
DEI violates the clear language of Title VII.
Explain the distinction.
It is UNLAWFUL to perform discriminate hiring. DEI ALIGNS with this paragraph by ensuring equal opportunity in hiring by ensuring people don’t discriminate based on those characteristics.
You just proved you know nothing about the topic.
The. Exact. Opposite.
not what it pretends to do.
Libs are fine with reverse discrimination against white males,
but none of you had actually read Title VII.
How do you measure “diversity?”
How can you set “diversity goals,” without setting race and gender above merit?
It ALIGNS. Let me break it down for you:
Diversity ensures someone of these qualities is hired alongside everyone.
Equity adds work for those less fortunate than others to ensure they’re equally applied for in terms of notability. Equitable.
Inclusion is exactly that
And once you’ve made race and gender a factor in hiring, you’ve violated Title VII.
The language is clear:
OF COURSE merit is considered when doing hiring… it’d put the company in a competitive disadvantage if they didn’t.
Merit alone gives no guarantee that an employer will hire people based on these characteristics. DEI cements that view.
You are either color-blind and gender-blind and hire on merit alone,
Or you factor in race and gender, thereby violating Title VII.
My healthcare company treats patients based on DEI because some groups have to be treated in different ways based on their healthcare needs.
Without it, everyone is treated the same. And that’s inaccurate healthcare.
I’ve seen DEI in action.
I do know what I’m talking about.
but it's COSTCO
they ain't gonna buy much without a cart.

Yeah yeah, not a perfect world, but we can support them for DEI, let's support the union too
Corporations are fickle, primarily droven by profit.
We must support workers, they have our same class interests, and helping them have more power helps all of us have more power.
However, how a corporation does that can vary wildly.
Costco is better than a lot of them, but they can and should be better.
Doesnt matter, should still should be supported via switching buying there, but critically and w/o losing sight of supporting the exploited labour
But the Union remains;it's power, wages,HC etc remain strong-
