The Chinese have been doing that for decades (using gov't to give its businesses an advantage) so why can't we? Particularly if, unlike China, we are talking about restricting our tech going to them (as opposed to China *requiring* that OUR tech go to them as a prerequisite to doing business there)
I can't believe how interventionist they become when they feel threatened by competition but hate it when Europe tries to regulate their largest market.
I notice that he doesn't mention that the open sourced the model and that anyone can download it and use it. It's almost like it's more for an existential threat to his bottom line than anything else.
No problem. I haven't done a lot of testing with it yet, but, at least for my needs, it works better than ChatGPT which is my current go-to. Specifically, I can never get ChatGPT to consistently give me primary sources. Even when it does, it gives broken links frequently. DeepSeek just does it.
These are not "American" companies. They're for-profit corporations. They steal from citizens' labor to create a product that tries to replace them & destabilize the job market offering nothing in return.
They just want you all dependent on them.
