They're getting increasingly desperate. They have invested so much money in this and really need people to use it.
In a functional market companies respond to consumer demand. The tech giants are betting that they are so powerful they can simply dictate what consumers use.
Design philosophy at all these over-extended tech firms now seems to be to aggressively retool their entire product lineup to put AI in front of as many people as possible in hopes some of them will (accidentally?) use it, and it reeks of desperation.
