Hate to be “that guy,” but I can’t be the only one here wondering what this thing tastes like between two slices of bread topped with lettuce, tomato, and dijon mustard.
I love the kind of facial structure that creates the appearance of grumpily chompin on stuff that says 'I like it, but I'm not happy about this chewing business'
Like rabbits, capybaras are coprophilic. Their droppings are excellent soil additive, enhancing tilth and worm populations. And they make an excellent entrée with all those homegrown vegetables. Substantial addition to a diet independent of supply chains.
i saw a newborn capybara at a petting zoo once. like it was literally still wet because it had JUST been born. my mom and i went to tell the workers and they took it away to a barn or something to keep it all safe and warm
More like guinea pigs (like to swim, similar mannerisms, vegetarian). They are very sweet, so I hear, but also pretty destructive because of their constant need to chew.
(Somehow calling them medium-dog-sized guinea pigs sounds friendlier to me!)
I was a Bronx zoo docent. During a reptile tour, a girl asked which was the boy and girl turtles. I said, "they know".
Leaving the reptiles, we passed the capybaras where two were trying to make a baby capybara. I said to the teacher "I'm glad she didn't ask which is the boy and which is the girl."
They’re very cute but have you seen a Wombat?
Wombats are very heavy (up to 36kg)
I think they are very similar to look at but the Wombat is a marsupial where the Capybara is a rodent.
I thought oh I have to show this to Steve and then I saw that you were the one who shared it! Have you ever seen a baby capybara before?! I don't think I have and he is adorable!
