I'm glad the states are doing this, because it's good to create pressure on all fronts. But I still don't understand what possible reason we might have to believe that the Musk regime will obey any law or court order it doesn't want to obey.

I understand that. But federal contempt of court findings are enforced by the US Marshals Service. The USMS Director reports to Pam Bondi. So I'm asking why we should simply assume that the regime will comply. It sounds like a cute way to downplay the ongoing suspension of the rule of law.

Furthermore, if the Marshals refuse a judge's order to arrest someone for contempt, that judge can turn to another law enforcement agency to carry out the order, e.g. Capitol Police.

Anybody who reports these lawsuits in the media or social media is assuming that, unless they say that compliance is not expected. This current rhetoric evokes a "Ha! Now the regime is toast!" vibe.

Capitol Police is controlled by GOP leaders in Congress. But I'm still listening...

It’s very important to stand up speak out and speak up enough is enough. Don’t wait for somebody else to do it for you. Show up at rallies in Townhall meetings and don’t let your Republican representatives or senators canceled their meetings which is their new modus operandi.

I think Musk had an influence, but Casey also has a lot of blame to bear. He ran a terrible, lazy, entitled campaign. He squandered a big lead. He acted like he couldn't lose. He hung on to Harris's coattails. Unfortunately, she had none.

They allege that, among other things, the firings violated a federal law that requires 60 days notice before a RIF not only to the federal employees, but also to states so they can put in place a rapid response for responding to the economic fallout. The failure to do so has thrown them into chaos.

Federal worker's reddit has stories: some people wrote they were told by unemployment office that the government filed reason for termination was "voluntary resignation", not RIF.

Because RIF requires 60 days notice.
