Let’s talk about something else, what are you reading right now? Anything new? Any old favorites? I’m writing a workshop about all the perfect sentences in Neuromancer

Re-reading VALIS by Philip K Dick. It's a bonkers book (how unusual for him, right) but it somehow soothes me at times when the whole damn universe seems cruel or meaningless.
Julian (G. Vidal)
The Portage to San Cristobal of AH
A Murder in Little Egypt
Unholy Business (N. Burleigh)
A Corpse in the Koryo
The Club Dumas
A Gathering of Saints
The Last Temptation of Christ
The Story of Philosophy
pausing a re read of gravity’s rainbow to read hidden figures. it’s the book that inspired the movie. sometimes i need some nonfiction to clear my head.
I’m listening to the audiobook version of Matthew Perry’s autobiography, read by the author. Sadly, he’s keeping me company as I cook dinner each night, telling me about his addiction. It is a voice from the dead and it’s so heartbreaking.
Well damn now I guess I’ll be rereading Neuromancer!
Currently listening to these fun books. Funny and occasionally hot but also address some serious issues (anxiety, trauma, disability, though not all at once.)
Gibson's detailed, hyper-specificity has always been eye-candy to me. I love his character descriptions and his excruciating detail to milieu building in a world moving so fast, ... that his detailing becomes so good at slowing things down to just the right speed for immersive verisimilitude.
Oh my god you and I are on the same exact page. All his books are sensational, but this one — I just think it’s a perfect novel in every respect. I’ll let you know when the workshop/lecture is done if you’d like to tune in
Oh wow! Sure. Most definitely. 👍 It's been years since I've voraciously raced through his back catalog. And I haven't read his last 2 books, The Peripheral (2014) and Agency (2020) .... plus he has one to come out soon.
Found a perfect distraction in shape of Amal El-Mohtar's 'The River Has Roots'. Two sisters harvesting enchanted willows at the edge of Fae kingdom, I mean..yes! Thank you, more 🙌🏼✨
I found “The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” five novels in one outrageous volume. I’ve brought it along on my extended trip. I’m reliving and remembering. It’s quite nice.
