As someone who does pay attention to these things, I do trust the NTSB in investigating this. That being said, DCA has been having a few close calls lately, tho those were happening on the runway.

Speaking as an air safety researcher familiar with investigations, as far as I know the NTSB is still intact and I'd trust them and their professionalism. If there were shenanigans it would come in the form of interference at a latter point.

It’s sensible not to rush to judgement about this crash. But it is very fair to say the context is concerning close calls in this areas because of growing traffic and limited resources which has been criticized several times before as needing more resources. (All WaPo)
