lol...so true!
We're labelling REAL foods, saying 'health food' or 'organic food', etc...when they're just natures' food; but the chemical laden foods, full of crap, are seen as the normal food now, with no labels attached>🤦♂️
I make my own granola, and it is astonishing how many "healthy" recipes out there take perfectly good ingredients (oats, nuts, seeds, bit of dried fruit) and then douse them in huge amounts of added fat and sugar. It's not remotely necessary.
It's a perfectly nice option, it just shouldn't be the only one! But it's not like I'm making a dry, joyless granola. I use a big spoonful each of Flora spread and treacle, melt that in the wok, and then put in as much oats, chopped nuts and seeds as will still allow me to stir it. Very tasty.
I ordered whole wheat hamburger buns from Amazon, which they forgot. I got a bag of potato chips and Pringles instead. (which I did not order) after eating some I didn’t “sit” like good food. I swear it was like eating a teaspoon of salt.
Moneynuka honey on an F Plan diet bran-a-thon fiber bowl.
High protein granola infused with brazilian plant extracts.
Yogurt coated prunes or some junk.
This is the true Health Food store cabal...
You are thinking of "Actual food" - shudder - imagine the consequences for irrigation. Aquafaba ftw😶🌫️
It's marketed towards the folks that need a sticker on their "Sour apple" scented dish detergent reminding them not to consume it. No, I have not been tempted by the forbidden sauce, before you ask.
These days everything you eat is a health risk due to food processing, food poisoning, chemicals, plastics, etc.!I feel like I need to wash my food with boiling water&have a priest bless it;but yeah, health food maybe hazardous to one’s health!👍🏻great post🤦🏼♀️💙🇺🇸🙏🏻💦
My son worked at a local grocery store during COVID. His job was to shop for people. He would come home and tell us that some peoples orders were just pre-made pre-packaged "food", sweets and soda pop. No fruits, no veggies.
A long time ago, when the phrase "health food" first started being used, carrot cake was one of the most popular offerings. It was very high in fat and sugar, especially the cream-cheese frosting, but it had carrots in it, so it was "health food."
I’ve hit only a couple home runs in parenting but one was using the terms “food” and “not-food” right from the get-go.
A solid showing for three food groups: protein, plants, & liquids.
Actually never had that but I can handle a ryecrisp. I'm thinking of "health bars" that have lots of enrichment and vitamins and no flavor but the texture of actual cardboard. I'll eat fruit with all it's wonderful fiber and flavor and veggies with herbs de provence and be perfectly happy.
I don’t think anything ever broke me as quickly as seeing real, tasty, fresh food at the 7/11 in Japan or convenience marts in Poland. It’s illegal in places to sell some of the shit they sell us.
I’m not really sure how to interpret this. Never really been to a Golden Corral. I definitely took advantage of all the fresh salads, sandwiches, and onigiri. I can’t imagine eating raw fish from a US 7/11 or anything other than a decent sushi place.
Golden Corral is where lower middle class America goes to "pig out" - eat heartily - at least in some parts of the US. I was trying to say that Japanese 7-11s have delicious food at the median restaurant level or better. When I lived in Japan going to the 7-11 could easily beat cooking something.
not me,..I love the Brassicas..I just had some,..as usual. But the jalapeno cheddar stone ground cornbread I made with it is like it's own food group...to stop up the pot liquor gravy that came off the steamed cabbage.
I can not gauge the seriousness of this conversation for the life of me, but as someone who lost a bunch of weight and felt great ab myself, i can admit that one oreo can be a slippery mf slope
i dont even crave sugar anymore, but whenever i have it, the feeling becomes something i crave for weeks
That’s because sugar is the first thing the brain wants when you aren’t eating enough. This is why diets are a scourge and a lie. You will not feel better without sustenance, and doctors know that they aren’t a long term solution. They can also encourage disordered eating.
Yuuuuup. I have a cupboard full of sugary crap in the kitchen because I still get a rush from buying it, but I don't get cravings and almost never touch it. If I start snacking during a hangover, though, it'll be about a week before I stop thinking about inhaling a bag of Haribo every day.
damn 😔 tbh i don't like peanut butter that much in the first place, gimme spreadable cream cheese and strawberry preserves on basically any type of bread and im set

No such thing.
There's junk
And there's food

Eat an Oreo; you'll be fine.

gonna go make an overprocessed chunky peanut buter and local organic peach raspberry jam sandwich.
it's alllllllllllll food
The ‘not food’ is easy to spot because it’s in sealed packaging and has a barcode on it 🙂
