People in developing countries only view it more favorably because they've been encouraged to use it to make money by "gurus." (Yeah, this is a thing, and it's so predatory).
The entirety of the trajectory of how this tech is perceived is wild and to me contains myriad lessons about how media can be gamed/has been primed to just unquestioningly accept pronouncements from these interests. I would like to hope these lessons will be learned, howeverβ¦
