interesting, Yesterday, just after noon, I saw a rainbowy looking "sun dog" in clouds that looked like that, but as the sun was stilll high, so was the sun dog. No photo as I was driving west & it was gone after a minute or two. I've seen lots of sun dogs (aka parhelia) but never @ midday like that.
