This is not a popular sentiment on this site but....the Israeli civil protest against the judicial coup prior to 10/7/23 drew hundreds of thousands of people to the street every Sat. night. More importantly, they created the civic infrastucture that help fill in for a failed gov't after 10/7

I agree with how the lack of media coverage is really hurting: there's wide swathes of the country that do not see collective actions anywhere, at any time. Folks who have never been part of any movement, not even to write a letter. BS isn't a great snapshot of this moment.

Also, I think people should ask themselves what are ways they able and willing to contribute. I guarantee there’s organizations in their local community that need help — driving people to immigration legal clinics or answering the phone for an abortion fund. Small things can make a big difference.

I talk about this constantly and even regularly share concrete ideas. I'm a resource sharing machine online and IRL. I think that there is a gap between thinking about taking action and actually taking it that can only be bridged by the individual.
