I lived down the street and my friend was his SM and would let me sit next to him during productions while he ran music/lights, from his lap, for his shows!

Yeah, he really was something.
I tried to get him do do something at the Goodman, but we could never make it work. I really found him an inspiration in so many ways; how he worked in space - movement, sound. A singular artist.
